Got this today:

Quote:
Hi XXXXXXXXXX (username: fnord_too),

Congratulations – you’ve qualified for 80% Rakeback until May!

Every Sunday we’ll email you a link to claim your weekly rakeback amount
That’s it!
The more you play through May, the more rakeback you get!

Play now
I think I qualified on Monday, but it might have been earlier. I know I played a **** ton on Monday to make sure I met the requirement.

Okay.. I qualified the first week of the 80% rakeback and I actually received my money and such. However, I just got another email that states "congrats you've qualified for 80% rakeback..."

Not to sound greedy relative to everyone else's problems but Should I be concerned that I wasn't getting rakeback for this week until I got this email? Because if that is the case.. I'll be pissed. (not that I'm going to know anyway, because I can't tell how much I've raked)

I just got my 80% email. On Tuesday I played around 6 hours of 4 tables of 100 NLHE. (And in one hand broadway was on board so I got to push my 200 stack all in on a $10 pot and got called)

It's odd how it seems like such a variance between experiences. I've always gotten timely emails for everything.

I guess this is silly, but possible for maybe some people it's going to spam?

Can I clear a deposit bonus and get 80% rakeback at the same time?

Got my confirmation today as well. That's wonderful but I no longer have any confidence in 888. Let's see what happens this Sunday when the rakeback is supposed to arrive. Something tells me it ain't gonna go smoothly.

Hoping that email is just generated everytime someone wagers more than the $500 in one calendar day and they don't turn that off once someone already qualifies

Is this true????? If so, this is such an enormous magnitude of false advertising that I can't even begin to articulate the injustice of it.

This could possibly explain why my 80% rakeback amount was so much less than it seemed like it should have been when comparing my rake paid to my rakeback received (rake paid calculated by means of Status Points earned @ 2/$1 contributed).

Please give us a straight answer on this 888Rep. You've been very responsive, but often your replies consist of you just copy/pasting directly from the promo terms and conditions and giving us a link to them. This is a question that is not answered clearly in those terms and while I realize that quoting them directly is a matter of safety and affords you the ability to answer consistently with 888's intentions, these issues clearly fall outside the scope of their (poorly written) terms and conditions.

Thank you.

Wow....I am feeling better and better about shifting my bankroll and all my play over to WSOP. If this is true than I am done with 888.

I agree that this is crappy and don't blame you. I feel as though I should mention when I signed into 888 today that I got a message saying "You're in! Collect 80% RB in all cash games until May 2014."

I realize that choosing to believe that message might also be naive, but at least the wording was what we wanted to hear?

See above, someone disputes this based on their actual rake back payment. Likely this was just a rep who did not understand the promotion.

Ps how does a poker site hire a support staff that knows nothing about poker and I'm sure most have never even played by the conversations I've had w them. I've just learns to expect nothing, not even promised promotions from this site now.
I recieved a reply this morning saying that you guys who contacted me with your issue will get sorted out and to keep sending on future issues.
We have a list with you all on it so please bear with us a little longer please.

Thanks for being so patient guys and hopefully we will get there in the end.

I just made my first deposit and did not get an email for the first deposit bonus. I called support and was told the bonus was put on my account but that there is no status bar or way to see the bonus. Is that standard on 888?

Those are under a different section, and they are all there and expired.

Signing off and back on did not help so I have PM'd 888rep.

You need to wager $500 one time before the end of January and you will get 80% RB until end of April.

In the process of handling some of the cases escalated, the team resent eligibility e-mails to some members who may have been previously unsubscribed, but you has nothing to worry about if you have got it twice.

Log out and back in again then recheck your account and if it's still not there then please feel free to send me your poker user name and I will get it looked into for you.

So is the $500 wagered in a day still as you described it in your post last week?

As I have said many times I wagered close to $1000 based on your definition of $$ wagered. I still have not received an email telling me my account is good to go.

On the Rake Back question, is it possible to get $500 of wagering in a 5cent/10cent game? Only one table. How Long will it take?

LOL @888, its been 2 months already and no online store and no VIP program. What is up with that? 888 rep said very soon, that was over a month ago.

Very unlikely. Build a model and play around with it. Like 12 orbits an hour, you open to 3 bb once an orbit. You go to the flop 2 out of 3 times and cbet 4 bb on average. You play one big pot an hour for 20 bb after the flop.

So here you have 18bb pet hour in blinds, 36 bb in pfr, 32 bb in c bets, and 20 bb more for the big pot. That is 96 bb per table hour, or just under $10 per table hour. Adjust the values based on your best guesses and do the math. With these assumptions, you couldn't get there in a 24 period playing 1 table of $10NL

Thank you sir. You have made it very clear that for the low rent recreational player even playing 4 tables it is not possible to even consider the rake back offer. So why try? Multi-table grinders up the ranks on the other hand should have no problem racking up the $500 necessary in 24 hours?

How does 888 track the number by the player? How would a player track it if he didn't have a HEM program? Blind faith.

How many 888 regs will qualify? Just wondering?

For what its worth I qualified playing 10nl. I was playing about 6 tables for about 6 hours or so. Don't know if it takes that long as yes there is no way to track, I played longer to be on the safe side.
