My nickname is "LukaModric10", it has been almost one month since 888 blocked and closed my account with no reason. At first I found my account disabled and I was asked to submit some documents (Passport, bank statement, utility bill and a selfie with all of them), I submitted them and they were accepted but I still could not access my account, a couple days later I received an email that my account was closed permanently without any explanaition. I was going back and forth with the support but noone could give me any proper answer as for which reason was the account blocked nor if I could get my funds back. I even posted on the 888 general thread but I got the exact same email that I received a couple times earlier.
This feels completely unfair as I feel like I have done nothing wrong and played almost 100k hands between 200 and 500NL in the last year.

I´m posting this for a couple reasons, first of all I would like to warn any players that this could happen to any of them and to any players thinking about starting to play there.
The second reason is that I already know a couple guys in the same situation and I´ve seen at least a few others going through the same process in the general thread. If you are in the same situation or know anyone going through this please post in this thread.
Let´s see if we can get a proper response from the support or from the representative, otherwise we should team up and start a legal process to get our funds back.

Read their Terms and Conditions which you signed and with which you agreed when you started play.

They have given you a proper response. They want honest players to play and earn them rake, but after carrying out the thorough checks they believe are virtually 100% foolproof, they have determined that you have not been honest with them and made the difficult decision to break off all relations with you, losing the considerable amount of future rake you would have paid them, and risking you badmouthing them in the social media.

There is no legal process that is likely to get your funds back, but of course it is your right to take them to court to try.

I don't know a single person that is in the same position as you and your couple of friends or acquaintances, and perhaps you are all grouped in the extremely minimal number of ex-players that were banned erroneously. Why not band with them and take your cases to court? You should get all your costs back if you win. At least talk to a solicitor, for a legal opinion of your odds.

Hello, I'm in the same situation as Luka Modric, I'm a nl 20/30 cash player... It wasn't very common to play at 888 but just the month he plays about 30k hands the most, they ban me, they close my account for no reason In the other photo of 888 I have seen that a person's money was returned after 10 days, but I have had my account blocked since day 6 and without being able to feel comfortable, I did not do anything illegal or anything strange, I only use PT4 and 888caption to speed things up, I have sent more than 10 emails explaining to them and their response is like a robot, that the decision is to close the account permanently without giving me anything else, company policies, I don't think it is a coincidence that now I have seen that We are more than 6 affected players in the forum, but how many more will there be? I hope they reconsider and at least give us back the money we have earned fairly, in my case... $1900 approx, and it is a last resort that a room as reputable as 888 does these things and is not providing solutions, that bank was very important since from time to time I used it for expenses that I cannot now afford, I don't sleep well thinking that they don't want to pay me back the money and we can't do anything and I show my face, I hope they reconsider and study the cases well, thank you and I hope that be helpful for the following thanks


ps: On the 9th I posted the post and the next day they replied that they would look at it, I still have no positive response about my case, and I see that no one has come up with a clear solution, and 2 days ago I insisted again on the 2 forum +2 888 about them and they told me that they would review it again and I am waiting, without being able to sleep well because of what could happen but without any guilt in not doing anything wrong.

Unless you know(note know not think or believe) he cheated you are being extremely dishonest when you claim they gave a proper response. And pretending that there is a meaningful legal option is dishonest as well. Do you always support stealing?

I find it funny that you consider an automated message a proper response when a site decides to keep your money with no further explanaition. Let´s not forget that even though we deposit in a site, it is still our money.
It would be a much more difficult process in some other unregulated site but 888 has a license in Gibraltar and as such they are supposed to mantain some standards.
You can see that just in a couple days there are a few responses here claiming to be going through the same, I know it won´t be an easy process but I´d rather do this than wait for a message that most likely will never come.

Yes I have used it but I find it hard to believe that a site decides to close your account with no previous warning for using a program whose only use is to help you to save some clicks and make your playing experience smoother. Let´s ask @888rep but it would be an absolute exaggeration.

When there is a binding contract in writing between two parties that covers virtually everything possible, including a formal Complaints procedure that both have agreed to follow, automated responses are certainly proper.

Have you read the T&C, thoroughly and carefully, to which you agreed, yet?

Hi all, I was in the same situation, I played nl100 and nl200, as soon as I put to withdraw money, I was blocked, after I provided all the documents and selfies with them, I was blocked forever and did not return the money. But there should be a leverage on 888 poker, is it possible to just take and throw their customers for money.

It all looks like the 8s consider you a bot. This hypothesis fits very well with the whole history, including their regulator's response. But this could be due to their clumsiness or error. The 8s have provided "evidence" to their regulator, and it's simply not known to the regulator that the method of obtaining this evidence sometimes results in false positives. Even in regulator checks and audits, this won't be revealed 99% of the time because they can't inspect every line of code.

In my opinion, in such a situation, you can only achieve the truth through two methods:

1) Insisting on an independent review of their methods in court. The cost of just one review will be at least a five-digit figure.
2) Gathering a significant number of people and demanding an internal review.

Hello, I am in the same situation , but I play low stakes tournaments.
They blocked my account, asked for my documents ID , bills , selfie , I sent them , and they terminated my account and seized funds , they gave me no reasons and said the decision is final.

I don't know if they think something is wrong with my documents (because they said my passport expired which is not true) or if they think I broke their rules, I am reading their rules and I don't see where I could have break it.

Crazy situation, I am confused and very angry because there is no explanations , nothing. I will fight until the end to get my account unblocked. This is insane.

I am in exactly the same situation, and I find both the protocols and the investigations carried out by 888 ridiculous. I am completely sure that they do not exist and they ban as they want.

I know of quite a few cases of players who are going through or have gone through the same situation and have ended up opening their accounts, but in my personal case they have not done so after 10 months of asking me for all kinds of documentation (ID, notarized invoices, selfies with invoices... etc etc). And why do you do that? Basically because I tried to withdraw my money from their room and they saw fit to ban my account.
I have all the evidence in emails and screenshots saved, but basically they asked me for the same documentation multiple times and once accepted they asked for it again. Even once they sent me an email telling me that my account was unlocked (False) and when I wrote to them again they asked for my credit card... I sent it and started again... Anyway, they don't follow any type of rule, they basically ban when they feel like it.

In any case, I have reached my limit, since after these 10 months of asking me for the same documentation over and over again, they have decided to block my account for no apparent reason and NOT RETURN my funds... This last is what seems terrible to me, I understand that they close my account but I don't understand that they keep my money, so I am willing to get to the bottom of this matter legally.

We should file a complaint publicly or through the regulator.

This happened to me at 888 as well. They accused me of some kind of collution or chip dumping, dont really remember, after me nagging them for a long time they sent the hands in question. It was like 5-10 completely normal hands vs some random nick I didnt even remember. I assume the other guy must have done some suspicious things. I got my account back finally but no apology or anything.

edit: Intentional losses they called it. I reviewed all the hands in question and sent back to them. Was the stupidest **** ever. I could post all the hands here again, its really mind boggling how they could see something strange in them.

They banned me as well. Have been playing poker for more than decade and got ban here after couldnt finish second verification.
Have all documents, hand history and everything to show that I played fair and didn't break rules. Always wanted to cooperate and find solution but they didn't listen or read anything. Like talking with a bot, besides impossible to contact them (no phone availabe and email takes time!)

To tell shortly:
1. Played 888poker last year 1 month. After ordered cash out.
2. Got my account restricted
3. Spend half year tryint to get restriction lifted and got banned because of that
4. Got quickly unbanned and spent one month trying to finish verification again to withdraw money
5. Got banned again
6. Being able to do cash out for the first time since last year
7. My balance now 1$ and money is seized by 888
8. Still banned
