So I have had my account with 888 poker for around 20 years. Never really put much volume on there, just played a few series now and again. Usually deposit around $1000, play a few MTTs and withdraw the balance after or spin up a little on the casino if I am bored.

Anyway I did this a few weeks ago, played a couple of mystery bounties finished around $80 down and with the remaining I played some live casino BJ. This resulted in me finishing around $450 in profit so I withdrew the lot that evening. The very next day I receive this email:



What has confused me is they know nothing about my financial circumstance. They have not asked for bank statements, done a KYC check or anything along those lines. Infact I have not had to send anything to them in 20 years so why is there a problem now? Whenever I email I get the same cut and paste response.

Has anyone here had anything similar? Have you managed to get your account back? Am I wasting my time trying to get it back?

This normally happens to winning players/pros they want to get rid of. I guess $450 was enough for them to want to get rid of you lol! You could ask them if you can prove your income to show that your financial situation is under controll. Unfortunately this is standard for these corrupt poker sites in 2024...

I have offered to show them bank statements and everything like that but they are not budging on their stance. I am not sure if it has anything to do with taking money off the site and not leaving it there as so far 888 have closed my account, GG closed (due to security issues from what they said) and Party Poker now have just reduced a few things its just really Stars I can play on now.
