14 Unsuccessful login attempts on FTP 14 Unsuccessful login attempts on FTP

I just signed in and got this message.

I checked my login history and there were 14 login attempts from someone in Italy.

I was just wondering if anyone here can give me any advice as what to do.

First of all I login in using my email, so this is why I am a bit worried. I have changed the email associated with the account now though.

Second of all I haven't received my RSA token yet, will this make me completely hacker proof?

I have just set up the additional pin, not sure how secure it will make my account though.

Sorry a bit of a jumbled email but am a little worried right now.

If anyone can provide me with any help it would be much appreciated. I use a iMAC fwiw.

Yeah, I do that everytime I have a big win on FTP.

Withdraw/self exclude/withdraw/self exclude.

Rinse and repeat.

Normally I would do as you suggest, but we can't forget about two things;

1) Rush poker & 2) Double guarantees, which is the real killer.

I would 100% do as you suggest if I had more money in my account, but I'm only one withdrawal away from just having very little on there. I don't think I can go without playing during double guarantees week!!

Appreciate the input though.

they most likely have your password already
it's the bin that block them.
while you wait for the token, i suggest you get the mobile security software as well.
it's great backup if your token die on you.

Do you use Gmail? many FTP players have been hacked via Gmail.. Use the search function for more info, but it's something to do with not having a certain security setting enabled.

First, scan your computer for any spyware or viruses

Second, change your email password or change your email address to a more secure one.

Third, change your password

Last change your pin.

It was probably just someone with a similar player name to your but still better safe than sorry

they probably tried to login with your screenname. It still shows up in your last login details. (try it with your own name if you don't believe me)

Nah I use hotmail, but changed to gmail following this incident.

I always hear hotmail is a pile of **** and gmail is much better?

I remember reading something about gmail settings though, I will have a search now and see if I can find anything.

Thanks.

Gmail chanegd the automatic settings to use https now, so all accounts are more secure

Self Exclude for 12 hours.

Buy the software token (fastest thing FTP offers). set it up, it takes an hour tops if ur stupid.

run malwarebytes and do the standard crap.

don't risk it, get the software token. Then when hardware one comes you'll have 2, which you should have anyways.

Oh wow really?

That is good news if that is what happened then.

The login history thing takes a while to update so I can't check if I get the same result "invalid password" as they did when I try using my username instead.

Cheers.

download keepass and generate a random 20 character password with it. nearly impossible to bruteforce one of these passwords, it would literally take years upon years upon years assuming u could pass through passwords every second . . . .

contact FTP and see if they can block any login attempts to ur account by the IP address that was hitting ur account

Ok, having tried this it was definitely not the case that they used my username instead of my email.

The result they got when attempting to login to account was "Invalid Password."

When I tried earlier using my username, I got the result "Preference is email address, login attempted with Player ID."

Now back to worrying.

create a new email (i think yahoo is good)
random letters numbers like: h87tg(at)yahoo(dot)com

change your email on FTP to this new email.
now, change your password, and also enable the email log in on FTP (so you log in using your new email address, not your screen name or old email address)

now, you can make a new password if you want. if you use private computer that no one has access to, use the "remember" password feature or w/e (so you dont type in you info each time you log into FTP).

now enable the pin code system. FTP will give you a 3 digit code you input at log in.

now go to the FTP store and buy a security token.

lol, I tried to call the number just now and the call just ends straight away, doesn't ring or anything.

Thanks for that IP search, they never seem to be effective for me but that looks right on the money IMO.

I found this while searching for one of the guys. It is a forum and from what I can make out if offers computer advice, and the same IP results that I have for this came up for one of the guys searches when showing an example of sorts.

Only read the first page as my hand is killing me trying to translate it all. Anyone speak Italian?
