There are really only 3 places in the US where you can find a game daily of 5/10 PLO and above stakes going daily. They are: Vegas(Aria/Wynn), LA(Commerce) and Houston(Johnny Chan's 88). That's it. Would recommend: 1. Houston, 2. Vegas 3. LA in that order.

Appreciate the information Bull. Could you expand on this, why the ranking in such order, is it by the quality of the game , more action and wild games etc ...also would you say Houston is a nice place to live?

What about other places, how good is London, Dublin, Barcelona, Amsterdam , Berlin or Paris, other places , Asia or South A,erica?

Amsterdam and Dublin are expensive cities. No major cash poker action in Dublin as far as I know -- I have never heard or read about it. Amsterdam has a high rake.

Spain is reasonably rake friendly and Barcelona has good PLO action, as has Madrid that has at least three good poker rooms. Both Spanish cities are not cheap, though one can find cheaper areas further. Valencia is cheap and has one poker room that might offer PLO action, but not at all sure how often, but if I remember it might run in the morning too if the action is there, but not at all sure. Spain's online poker is segregated with France/Portugal, and winnings are taxed from all sources.

There are also entrance fees in Spain casinos -- with discounts if per week etc. Some casinos in Spain or Madrid might require a jacket or so during the winter part or so, and other than that, it is all smart casual. You need a passport, the ID is good only for the EU members. One usually has a passport when traveling from elsewere but it seems to come as a surprise to many.

Scotland has nlh200 mainly and with 5 £ cap. England as a tourist, if not getting to immigrate there has some other than plo200 but if popular enough these days, I dont know, but the rake should be more reasonable than in most of Europe.

Parx has a regular 5-5plo game 2k cap daily and also gets 10-10plo 4K cap semi regularly

Best bet Jacksonville gets a 5-5plo uncapped

Borgata gets some big plo games on the regular at night and on weekends

I would go to these places over Vegas

No tournies at parx for the meantime but you have rivers and live within a half hour both running daily’s I believe…

Which reminds me that Philly Live also gets 5-5 uncapped plo sometimes..

parx will get 10/10 on tuesdays, and maybe 2-3 times a month otherwise usually not more than for a few hours on non tuesdays.



Your borgata info is extremely outdated. These days if you're lucky they'll get one 5/5 plo game on fridays and saturdays.

Ya borg would know more about borgata.. but ya parx is probably the biggest plo player pool bc of its proximity to ny and philly. It’s closer for NYers than AC.

London would be the most convenient choice for family proximity, banking, as i am a British citizen. Not being able to open a bank account in the US as a foreigher is stresfull for sure. My main concern with Lonodon is how good are the games and the number of games running regularly. I assumed games are better in US, more players, more money, more bad players...probably not the best analogy the games i watched on youtube , TCH, vegas vlogs etc, is ridic the level of play, but yeah not representative , but still i dont think you can find anywhere on the planet more recs with money etc..and casinos are much nicer.

yah maybe texas I hear the games are good. i dunno travel around see where the action is best. then set up shop for a while.

If you look at Texas make sure you know where to go. I believe that PLO is only steady in the Houston area with both Dallas and Austin MUCH more NL games/tournaments.

You can also watch the Bravo App on your phone and set it up to search for PLO games 'only' .. then you will see at various times of the day what's going on.

If i bring lets say 30k with me ( is that even enough), can i make one casino my hub in terms of leaving the cash there in a safe deposit box or casino account , renting a cheap appartment in that city, and travel from there, hopping back and forth. In terms of lifestyle , is that something that people still do, traveling around playing poker? I would prolly rent a car, would love to see America (been to New York and Tampa, but haven't seen much) or thats a bad idea, cheaper by plane etc....what about accomodation, wouldnt want to spend 200$ a night staying at a casino hotel....any alternatives like cheaper hotels around the casinos, i am guessing there are..

A couple options

Find a place next to parx/philadelphia you would have parx and philly live right there. Then you could easily drive to AC. You could also drive to Maryland live and DC National Harbor. They have 5 card plo in maryland and Washington DC. You could also go to jersey shore.

Find a place near LA, Vegas, Pheonix… things are a little farther out west but you could see some nice parks and scenary and Grand Canyon. Tons of casinos in Southern California and great scenery.

Find a place near east coast of Florida maybe Daytona or palm beach… that would give you access to orange city, palm beach kennel club, Jacksonville best bet, hard rock Hollywood etc, nice beaches

You could do Texas Austin, Houston , Then maybe check out New Orleans.

As far as how much to pay to stay somewhere you tend to get what you pay for as far as safety and proximity. LA is going to be expensive but the action is likely to be better. Vegas might be cheap but the play might be nittier. Maybe see if you have status at any properties and or try to build status to get comped rooms or poker player rates.

Great breakdown on the options, thanks. Not sure why i am leaning towards East Coast, it feels more european for some reason, more populated and not "remote" , which i know the other mentioned places are not, i guess in my mind i prefer the East Coast vibe more, though totally unsubstantiated.

An interesting observation came to mind, my playing style is best suited to playing the same people, people that i am building history with, playing different people all the time i feel i will not get crucial value that my game is based on, as they will give me too much credit as people you never played with would mostly assume you are a nit and showing them i am not in the sort time could be too expensive. Even when bluffing , i dont want them to give me this credit, i dont mind the calls in the short term, actually prefer them....things like that , i pefer to build long poker journeys with my opponents as i feel i will extract most value in the long term, just be at a spot where i feel dominant (against the field obviously), this takes time, so travelling way too much is not the best option i feel, perhaps focus should be on 3-4 regular games..

South Florida. Hard Rock Hollywood has daily 5/10 and 10/25 plo several times throughout the week. There are some good PLO games not listed on bravo due to a lot of the poker in SF taking place in these dog track / card rooms

30k is not enough for 5/10 PLO, especially if you're also paying living expenses out of your roll. 50k is the minimum I'd have as a casual player, 100k if you're gonna do it for a living and pay bills

Play back the TCH or Lodge PLO game from Monday night. One of the commentators has vast poker experience and indicated that table had the most PF action he's ever seen in a PLO game.

While I think stream games tend to attract (or invite) action Players, that game flow is not that different than what you'll see in the Michigan/Ohio casino/home game PLO scene .. 'Buckle Up' doesn't do it justice. MGM Detroit had a 25-50-100 (with a feeder) that had multiple 50K pots throughout the night. While this stake doesn't run regularly, the action is a plenty at any stake in this room. I've hear good things coming out of Columbus, OH as well .. and if you can crack the home game scene .. my gosh! GL

He's talking about cash on hand not bankroll. It's more than enough cash on hand so long as you can reload, which presumably you can via bank wire.
