They are all private games now because the whales are looking for action and not nits grinding it out.

Re: Where are the biggest live games ran?

In this 'age' of poker you will be hard pressed to find this size of game being spread regularly at any location. While the usual suspects of Vegas and LA are still the best areas to find such a game, it may be rare and possibly only running when there's a stream going on .. which will be hard to get a seat on most of the time.

I've heard/seen games this large run in Texas, but again it's bi-weekly or only just when certain Players are coming in to play.

I would also assume that some, if not 'a lot', of the Players at this stake are involved in private games so they can control the player pool and not get scalped by the nit-wizards.

IMO you don't really need to raise the stakes to find action these days. I've seen 1/2-1/3 tables with 10k+ on them and they are better games than the 5/10 running in the same room.

As indicated in many threads here .. TX and FL are the poker meccas right now. I'm not sure if the east coast is back up near where it was pre-CV while Vegas and LA will always have excellent choices on most nights .. if you can find the right game.

NL Players are better now .. and aren't donking off stacks the way they used to, but that doesn't mean there isn't opportunity. GL

The few you will find in casinos or card rooms are going to be 99% by invitation only.

All our friends and acquaintances who play 50/100 or bigger only play in home games with people they know.

It is just so simple and fun to do it this way for recreational wealthy social players. No one wants to sit around with non social grinder "try harder's."

These people - the ones we know - want fun and relaxing gambling at poker...

In a casino, practically never. In exclusive underground games, pretty regularly. The thing is that you have to be on the list, and if you have to ask how to get on the list, you're never going to get on the list.
