Can 9-10 person tables be made to fit these requirements? Would they take up too much room?

Here in Germany the first casino reopend the door last week in Wiesbaden. 4 tables are running (Two NLH 2/4 and two PLO 5/5). Plexiglas to seperate each other and it is 8max, no mask need to wear at the table. The action is good at the moment.Poker is still alive.

Loved Wiesbaden, when I went in March, this year. It has an old world feel. The floormen wear tuxes. 2, games of 5/5 plo is encouraging. Did the 20/40€ plo decide not to run?

I got stuck playing 2/4 nlhe, when I was there. I enjoyed it. Saw lots of people I knew from Kings Rozvadov other places I've played. MOSTLY THE 5/5 PLO Regs (Natasha is among 1 of them).

The news you give is definitely encouraging for German poker.

Wonder about Casino Schenefeld in Hamburg & Spielbank Potsdammer Platz in Berlin. Not sure if any other venues are good besides those.

Schenefeld is open but no tables games or poker yet AFAIK.

Spielbank Berlin Potsdamer Platz (and all other locations) is still closed, no opening day yet. I co-own a business that operates a bar in Berlin and we have zero information when that might be able to open again. I doubt it's going to be before 06/01 and I don't think casinos would be allowed to open earlier than bars.

Someone posts a pic here in this thread allready. Each seat has a plexiglass on the side but not in the front. There is another plexiglass in the middle of the table, front of the dealer, looks a little bit strange but its ok, better than nothing. You can play without any problems and after some hours, it becomes irrelevant.
Wiesbaden is very nice town. I'm am leaving near of Wiesbaden and spend much time there.
PLO is only 5/5€. Tables are good and is a nice atmosphere to play poker as you have allready mentioned. I always enjoy playing there.
Take care.

Does anybody have any actual scientific information to offer, with attached links from credible non-biased sources of expertise, regarding the potential effectiveness or ineffectiveness of plexiglass structures for mitigating the spread of coronavirus infections at poker games?

Because laypeople are certainly entitled to state their opinions (I appreciate the imo when doing so), but no layperson's opinion (usually oversimplified and without ample facts from expert sources to back it up) should matter at all to anybody in determining the best practical solutions to difficult, complex scientific problems.

Coronavirus means PA casinos are folding on poker
https://www.inquirer.com/business/co...-20200520.html

"Poker players who gamble in Pennsylvania casinos and are concerned about reading a rival’s expression through a face mask need not worry: Poker will be banished when casinos begin to reopen in the coming months as the state’s coronavirus lockdown lifts.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Wednesday issued minimum protocols for casino operators to follow as they reopen, which will dramatically change the gaming experience for some visitors. Patrons and employees will wear face masks, casinos will need to install lots of plexiglas and hand-sanitizer stations, and some slot machines will be disabled to enforce social distancing requirements."

Hey all -

Yesterday I heard of Towers Casino in Grassvalley California had opened and ran a game on Monday. I went yesterday to play, and the DOJ came in and busted it up. Here are two links, first one is when the DOJ came in, second one is the owner speaking her mind. There was also an article in the sac bee.

Interesting set of protocols that the PBKC is going to use - https://pbkennelclub.com/press-release-reopening/

Different than Hard Rock - apparently, no dividers, masks and chips stay in play at the table....woot woot - glad it is reopening tomorrow!

June is going to be interesting. Summer travel, bars and restaurants re-opening. Casino's beginning to reopen. State and federal leaders are talking and acting like the pandemic has been defeated, even though the population of infected individuals is still high and has not really gone down much (especially in states like Texas).

We are going to see a nice little bump in new infections and total cases. The fun part is that every action taken has about a 2 week delay. So if the numbers start to climb too fast and states decide to tighten things up again, it will take two weeks before that decision has a visible effect.

I don't think there is any way o make casino poker safe. And given that a lot of regs are older, I think you are going to be seeing a lot of posts in the 'Venues' thread posting in memorium of long time regs.

"Hand sanitizer will be used in lieu of a dealer button. When a player has the sanitizer, they are encouraged to use it"

This cracked me up for some reason.

I consider myself a serious recreational player. I understand the varience of the game. I win some, I lose some. I enjoy the game. But I don't understand this let's get back to the table at any price attitude. Maybe people just don't care. For me, I don't miss the game enough to risk my health. And if I never play live again so be it.

Derby Lane has been at capacity since opening. I bet PBKC is gonna be filled and nobody's leaving all day. I'm interested in this Table Self-Containment strategy. Becoming a poker pro meant learning how to not get sick already around people from literally all over the world. Dividers don't seem particularly sanitary but isolating 6 players and 2 dealers on 1 table all day seems better than letting 200 people trade chips and junk.
