Tournament. Hero opens with A5 in the CO, Villain calls on Button, both blinds call.

Flop AK7. Both blinds check, Hero checks, Villain bets. Both blinds fold. While Hero is thinking, the Villain flips over his hand (A6) and the dealer pushes him the pot and the Villain tosses his hand to the Dealer. Hero then says "WAIT WAIT WAIT I CALL I CALL I CALL" but the Dealer ignores him/doesn't hear him and kills the board (mixes the flop and the dead cards and the Villain's cards all in together into a pile.)

Hero screams "Floor!!!" and the Floor comes over. What should they do?

"While hero was thinking". How long? If excessive did you say time or use some other method to make it clear you still had a hand?

Floor makes sure Hero tried to protect his action fast enough. Go to camera if possible.

If so, Hero wins pot, less any uncalled bet (i.e. the flop bet).

If not, Hero didn't protect his action, Villain wins pot. But this would take something really unreasonable on Heroes part, e.g. you can tell he's waiting for villain to muck while dragging the pot before speaking up.

I think hero speaking up before the dealer kills the board is sufficient for that. In case all caps means shouting, "WAIT WAIT WAIT I CALL I CALL I CALL" would do that in my book. There might not even be a need to check the camera, because several other players should be able to back up the claim. Unless everyone including the dealer is deaf.

Unless he hides his cards or does anything else that makes the rest of the table believe he doesn't have a hand, that shouldn't be a deciding factor.

Oh man, that's what I did! In my dream, see, the Villain showed me his hand preflop, and he held K7, which means he flopped two-pair, so I was beat. But then when I saw he was going to muck while I still had cards, I started thinking "oh wow, if I just wait long enough for him to toss his hand irretrievably into the muck, I win!" So I was waiting for that. But then somehow his hand magically changed from K7 to A6, which was very confusing.

In my dream, I yelled for the dealer to call the floor, but she refused because she was actually my ex-girlfriend and, thinking it over, I bet she screwed up on purpose because she wanted me to lose. So I just screamed "FLOOR FLOOR FLOOR" until they came over, but they said "Sorry, nothing we can do, we don't know what cards you had." And I said "But I'm still holding my cards, they're right in front of me!" But they said "sorry, you might have just stolen those from Villain." And then they left, and then I woke up.

Um, your dreams suck. If this were my dream, Christie Brinkley circa 1984 would be the cocktail waitress trying to chat me up while my wife is sweating the table nodding her approval.
