My local casino offers a regular schedule of NL tournaments, but with horrendous rake.
The field is extremely weak and passive, with a large proportion of players being interstate and overseas tourists.
The following is the regular schedule:
(1) Monday night, 15-minute blinds, $60+15 ($15 rake), 10k stack, 125 runners
(2) Wednesday night, 10-minute blinds, hyperturbo, $110+20, 10k stack, 125 runners
(3) Saturday daytime deep stack special, 30-minute blinds, 20k stack, $175+$25, 125 runners
(4) Sunday "double up" 11-person sit and go, 15-minute blinds, $100 buy-in, 5k stack, first 5 win $200, game ends with 5 players left
There is no rebuy on any of these tournaments and the first blind level is 25/50. Antes start on the fourth blind level for all of these.
My question is
(1) Are any of these beatable in the long run, no matter how bad the field is?
(2) Are they realistically worth playing, in comparison to grinding cash games at say $20/hr?
