My first post here, only mildly interesting.

A few years ago, I'm playing an Omaha Hi/Lo at Orleans in Vegas. Staff is apparently testing the fire alarm system and alert lights are flashing around the floor off and on.

Dude at the table next to me is apparently epileptic and has a seizure and collapsed to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Everyone nearby freaks out and medical staff attend to him - he is OK - and he eventually returns to play.

Worst part: I crash and burn BEFORE him. I get beat by the guy who has a medical event during play!!

That could only be better if after he settled himself they did a second test.

1/2 NL last night.

Squirrely looking guy has run up $100 to $400. Typical 1/2 hand small raise bunch of callers.
Flop comes 567 with 2 clubs. Squirrely guy bets $20, another player makes it $50, guy with 2k stack goes all-in.

Squirrely guy says, "I only play once a year and I'm up $300 and I don't want to lose it." He folds 89 face up including 9c.

Playing 2/5 at the Aria when my 25 year old stunning daughter comes up to let me know I'm buying her dinner now. I'm early 60s and look it with a very different facial structure so most of the table thinks I'm her sugar daddy. Tell her I'll get up after this hand as I was the button. Got dealt JJ; 4 players with me raising to 6 BB and called by the blinds and limper. Flop is 2 6 Jr. I go all in for roughly 1000 vs an under $120 pot to end it so I can use the money already in the pot to buy dinner. Young guy looks at me and says he knows I'm trying to impress my girl and calls with A 6 saying he's the one with real balls. I win and leave with my daughter as the table is laughing.

Gonna need pics of both you and your daughter so we can compare your facial structures.

2/5 table at a casino, roughly 5am

Player in seat 9 somehow bets 500 pre ($1400), probably 30s, maybe 40s. wearing slides. probably 70-100 lbs over an acceptable normal weight. chances of diabetes: high
Player in seat 3, who's OOP, hems and haws and eventually calls. he has about 2500 in red birds racked up. probably mid 40s, if not a little older. probably 50 lbs over weight
flop comes 2x8d7d
s3 checks, s9 jams, s3 calls, s9 slams black AA on the table
turn 6d, river 2x
s3 rolls over 32dd

everything moves on. s9 doesn't rebuy but is standing, berating s3. this goes on for like 2 hands and s3 is just kind of smiling and playing, engaging minorly but not escalating. eventually s9 starts asking s3 "have you ever gotten your ass beat by a guy in sandals"? asks him this like 3-5 times, while taking his hoodie off. eventually s9 says "i'm going to **** your mom". s3, who has cards and is in the middle of a hand that is on the flop, apparently that makes him snap and he gets up and goes toward s9.

they engage in a battle royale behind the dealer and s1. no security in sight. lets just say s3 did not get his ass beat by a guy in sandals. s3 definitely won the fight, getting s9 on the floor on his back and landing several punches. bare in mind, there is still an active hand in play that s3 is a part of. eventually s3's buddy comes running over from another table and breaks the fight up. still no security in sight.

now it's broken up and the floors get s9 away from the table. s3 sits back down and wins the hand! eventually the head floor comes into the room and they're going to throw both out but they want to throw them out separately, which is obviously reasonable, so they start with s9. s3 continues to play for like 5ish minutes and then gets up on his own and leaves.

Yes. I felt their general age and weight were appropriate for getting the picture of what happened. I didn’t go into race, even though they were not the same, because it doesn’t add anything to the story imo.

i think you can get a ton of information off players based on how they dress, how old they are, ethnicity, and bmi

this doesn't account for good players, but you can spot a good player pretty quickly, it's the others who are harder to pinpoint between passive rec, aggrofish, etc etc etc

rickroll's guide to getting canceled (remember this only applies to bad players)

black or middle eastern: he's going to bluff a lot and wants to be the table captain - views not winning every pot they play as weakness
asian: either super nitty or loves that gambool, rarely not on one side of that spectrum if they are a rec
white: probably on the more passive side if older and more aggro side if younger
female: more cautious, will check back marginal value, but paradoxically more likely to play her hand in a vacuum (over valuing top pair on a wet board etc)
south asian: usually assume they are smartest at the table and will attempt to get tricky but often results in fancy play syndrome - they do not play big pots lightly but but will still get it in bad because they underestimate the opponent's ability to have a better hand

barely old enough to play: probably the best players at the table, likely studied and played online and just testing out live for the first time (not always the case and if so you'll know quickly)
young: more aggro, plays more speculatively, defends blinds vigorously, thinks bluffing is a bigger part of the game than it actually is, more likely to play her hand in a vacuum (over valuing top pair on a wet board etc)
middle aged: toughest to range, fairly diverse
old: the name is old man coffee for good reason

healthy shape: fairly diverse
absolutely jacked: often dismissed as a dumb jock, this person has a ton of discipline in life and likely thinks deeply about each action and in general is pretty nitty and won't play big pots without the nuts
fat: more speculative, happy to see a flop or chase a gut shot, winging it in life has brought them to this point in the first place so there's no reason why poker would be any different

street attire (jerseys, wife beaters, etc) - has some gambool in them, will play more speculatively, more likely to bluff
comfort attire (hoodies, tshirt) - usually among the better recs but very diverse group hard to range as the other groups often default to this attire randomly at times (a polo and khaki guy will occasionally play in a tshirt and jeans but never in a wife beater or lebron jersey and vice versa)
business casual - see asians, either very loose donking it up at lolstakes for the lols or fairly disciplined and nitty

A guy at my tournament table the other day was playing not one, not two but three live tables simultaneously in three different events. Two of the events were in the same large conference room, but the third was in a different room of the casino.

Player would SPRINT off, then sprint back, look at a hand or two, before sprinting off again. He would also stop in the middle of the room to try to scout the two tables he could see, checking out his position in relation to the blinds, etc.

Chance of diabetes... Very low.

I've heard tales of people in more than one tournament at a time before. Never more than one cash game though.

Hard Rock Hollywood in S. Florida

Why wouldn't they allow it? They got three times the entry fees.

Seems like he would be knocking people over and/or generally making a nuisance of himself in other ways, annoying other players to the extent that it shouldn't be worth the extra money the house is getting. Also someone being away from the table for many of the hands favors some seats at the table and hurts others. I would be pretty pissed if the guy was sitting to my right.

Are we all forgetting Deeb doing this (for at least two tournaments at sametime) more than once at the WSOP?

The casino likes it because it's more rake. Players may be annoyed, but it's more money in the prize pool from someone playing less than optimal poker.

I've had that happen at a tournament and each table had to wait while said dipstick had to spend time reading his cards and board. Bush league crap.
