Pretty sure I did, maybe it didn't refresh in time? Oh well, either way.

First thing I did was ask her if she was alright and immediately asked her if she wanted to go to the ER.

She was really mean to me after that and she kept calling me names. And I was like, "Well if you don't wanna go to the hospital, then I don't know what else I can do".

Okay no problem.

The fire went through two layers... I didn't even realize I was ignited...

She probably saved your life, and you left her there with burned hands because "she was really mean to you" LOL

Thank god for the candle story. Those last stories with the hand histories happen on a daily basis.

If that candle thing didn't happen one of you probably could've taken her out for drinks at the very least.

Dude!

I mean she was acting psychotic, hitting me, cursing me out, etc.

I apologized a million times to her, thanked her two million times for putting me out, and when she just kept bitching and yelling... I had had enough.

you did ruin her livelihood technically, sounds like she works with her hands. Can't Tattoo with burned hands and can't model. You should watch where you're stepping next time. She saved your life and ruined her career basically lol.

Uh there's only a very, very small chance that Ian intentionally backed into a candle and set himself on fire because he was trying to ruin the career of a chick he barely knew. Accidents happen. There were a dozen things the chick could have done that didn't involve her putting her hands in burning clothes. Does no one remember "Stop, drop and roll".

Nobody said it was on purpose, accidents happen. But he needs to live with fact he ruined this girl's career and she saved his life.

God its like a ****ing episode of Seinfeld or something. Wasn't there an episode where george burns someone's hands and they are hand model?

No. He ruined no one's career. He accidentally created a situation where a girl chose to act in a way that may have harmed her career. There's a MASSIVE difference.

Also she didn't necessarily save his life. Potentially she did. Potentially she saved him from some non life threatening injury. Potentially the jacket would have smoldered out on it's own. Pretty hard to tell.

And she didn't necessarily end her career. There's a decent chance that after a week or two her hands are fine and all she's lost is a week's income.

And it doesn't sound like Ian was acting in a reckless manner. He's not doing flaming shots or something stupid he backed into a candle.

Does he have some moral obligation to try to help out a girl who saved him from injury. Sure. Sounds like he did that. He thanked her, offered to help her to the hospital. Does he deserve abuse from the girl as if this was something he did on purpose? No I don't think so.

Sounds like if it happened the way he said I'd have peaced out too. Just cause you helped me doesn't give you the right to abuse me or demand money.

psujohn summed this up nicely, I don't see what else he should reasonably have done.

And I'm being serious when I say I looked at her hands. One of them was a red. It really didn't look that bad. It looked like a sunburn, obviously I'm not a doctor. Yeah, it was red. That was it.

If it's that bad, let me take you to the hospital. No? Okay then... what else am I to do?

Not funny at the time, but looking back we can laugh at it – and do!

My husband and I are playing PLO at Hialeah. Not the greatest neighborhood, but great action and the floor was great the night before and remembered us tonight. (We are out-of-towners.)

We have one ultimate NIT at the table who wants to control everyone. A reg MAWG and a Hispanic guy who speaks little English, is wearing a tank top, has gold chains on his neck and tattoos, including a teardrop on his cheek, want to play one hand for $100 – just the two of them. They did this once before – many hours ago. The NIT says, “No.” Nobody else cares, but the NIT refuses, and the Hispanic guy gets really upset.

Dealer deals the hand, and before the action, the Hispanic guy says he’s going all-in (he has about $300). My husband and I both tell him we are not folding if he goes all in (we each have him covered). We both tell him we have good hands and will NOT fold. He goes all-in, anyway. We both call. My husband has a J-high rundown, and I have AAAK suited My AA wins the hand.

The Hispanic guy goes nuts. Absolutely crazy! He starts yelling at us, knocks his chair over, starts threatening us. Then, he gets on his phone and starts texting his friends and telling us we’ll pay. He looks me straight in the eyes (I’m a middle aged woman) and tells me he’ll get me. (My laughing at him didn’t help.) He’s seriously threatening our lives. The floor will basically not do anything except try to calm this guy down. He then follows my husband into the bathroom and threatens his life while asking if he went all in just because he wanted to sleep with me (LOL – didn’t realize we were married or even together).

Finally, the cops are called, the guy takes off and a BOLO is issued, but they don’t find him. Right after he leaves, the floor apologizes profusely and says this never happens – then a fist fight breaks out at the only other table in the room! Amazing.

We left at about 8 a.m. (This happened about 3 a.m.) We had security escort us out with no sign of the guy, thank goodness.

(Of course, he was willing to risk $100 blind, but $300 tilted him beyond recovery!)

Best PLO game in the country, just have to worry about getting murdered. Unfortunately, this is standard stuff there.

Hence the smile. However, my hand was so far ahead of whatever he had, I was never folding. Everyone else had folded, and I had two players behind me who were never calling w/o a double suited AA hand, and I had that covered. I figured my husband had exactly what he did, but I was still never folding. It's $300 in a $5 bring-in PLO game. I'll gamble with AAAK suited vs. a random hand every time.

Anybody see a player with their service animal at the table, on their lap before?

I look forward to seeing that one day.

I've seen it quite a bit down in FL, never saw that anywhere else.

A woman at Venetian (I think that's where I was -- maybe Wynn) had her little Italian Greyhound in her lap a few nights in a row. It was a service dog because she needed the emotional support -- whatever that means. I'm seeing that more and more lately. I love dogs and think they should be allowed everywhere, but the "emotional support" service dog is a bit over the top.

I saw a guy who was retired military that had a service dog with him "to keep me out of trouble" as he put it. Could be PTSD. Some have emotional support service dogs for really good reasons but yeah it sounds like it could easily become a way to be able to take your dog wherever you want.

Hialeah is a very dangerous place. It's not funny dangerous, it's actually dangerous. I don't know how you could ever laugh in the face of someone threatening to murder you, but I certainly wouldn't do it at Hialeah.

Look at the incident in Kansas, don't egg on people who are clearly not mentally stable.

I've seen several support dogs. I've seen assistants as a well (for people unable to look at cards).

Emotional support animals are not service animals. Their handlers rely on businesses and landlords not knowing the difference or being too afraid to discriminate, and it works. Among the sufferers are actual service animal handlers who, in addition to their actual medical conditions, have to fight the added stigma.
