I don't know if I would be able to recover if i had the Jacks in that BBJ story. Would probably puke my ****ing guts out on the felt and die right there.

^^^ yes, depending on the size of the BBJ I could easily see myself spontaneously combust at that point. Ours is over 200k right now and for that I would explode.

Playing two nights ago in the Czech Republic 20/40 CZK, everyone's short stacked (nobody bought in for more than 50BBs), 6 other guys at the table, I'm playing pretty tight, four hands in a row it goes 6 to the flop after everyone but me calls a raise, the raiser cbets (different guy every time) and takes it down on the flop.

I chuckle to myself after the fourth time this happens, when the guy immediately to my left leans over and says "You see, we Czechs play bingo, you play poker." Laughed my ass off.

The same guy busted me two hands later flopping quad 7s (he called my 3-bet with 74off) against my AA. When the cards flipped over he just said "bingo" and everyone laughed.

I have a few question on some things I found weird, but don't feel like it warrants a thread. Not really weird enough to be in this thread either, but whatever.

I don't play much live poker. Last weekend I was playing a live tournament.

There was a guy on my left, who when I played vs. him would stare right at me while the flop was coming out. I get what he was trying to do, but he took it to (what I thought) was a weird level. I'm not exaggerating when saying he would stare at me for 10 seconds, 1 foot away from my face, and I could feel him breathing on me. What is an appropriate response in the situation? It only happened twice, and if we ended up in another pot together I was thinking of just staring back at him while he did it to me, and seeing if he wanted to play chicken to see how weird he wanted to get with this awkward scenario.

Also, what is the standard move vs. drunk belligerent a-hole that is berating everyone, drunk, calling time on fish super quick, etc..? Provided you may be spending the next few hours with this man.

when people do that to me I waive at them and say hi. Or make really really over the top reactions to the flop.

Blowing them a kiss usually works as well.

Got a buddy that is starting to play pool allot, taking it serious and improving. We get out of the closing pool hall, and he say lets go to the card game. I figure out he's never been there, so I think sure, let's go.
We get there and have to wait because of a full table. Luckily they have a pool table, so we kill about forty five minutes before I get a seat. I play another half hour before he sits at the 3 seat. He buys into the 1-2nl for 200, and before long starts displaying some fishy tendencies. Once he slow played KK from early position, then called a small raise that two others called at the end w his overpair. Calling, calling, calling.
Anyways, he gets into a hand with the chip leader, who has over a thousand. MB sees a two paint, all diamond flop , calls, sees a broadway card, calls, and then on the river, CL bets sixty after a fourth diamond hits, about a pot sized bet. MB has about 120 behind, calls.
CL turns over, reluctantly, 2,4d, for a flopped flush. And with all the confidence that was ever seen at a showdown, MB turns over two red cards 2h/Jh! People are stunned, whole table silent, and he says, " I got a straight."
The dealer recovers and pushes the pot to CL, declaring the flush winner.
Another dealer is playing and when people start recovering looks at me and says " have you gotten your referral bonus yet? " Im dying laughing inside but manage no, not yet, I was wondering if you guys did something like that.

The next day I dug out Phil Gordons little green book of poker and gave it to him. We all started somewhere, right?

I'm lucky enough to play in a quality room that ejects for foul language. I would call the floor in a way that made it clear to the bum that it was me and why I was doing it. That sets people like him off on a temper tantrum, and by the time the floor gets there, they dig their own grave and get ejected in spots they would only have gotten a warning. Yes, I have done this. It's glorious. (don't walk to your car alone afterward, though, just in case)

I know playing with drunks is annoying, but it's also profitable. If they have truly gone overboard, of course get them thrown out. But if they're just at the annoying stage why would you try to get them thrown out?

Once he said the guy was berating fish, on top of already taking down the mood of the game, he's probably taking more money away than he's giving.

Did you tell your friends to be cautious when playing a pot with the chip leader in a cash game. Cash game chip leaders are tricky.

Four diamonds, 3 on the flop and 1 on the river.

2 of the diamonds on the flop were paint.

The non-diamond was a broadway card.

So I'll go with:

You're probably right. I wonder if I'm the only one who thought it maybe implied that he didnt even have a straight.

It was a pretty illegible story and I also thought he didn't have a straight.

game is £1/2 plo 4/5/6 (dealer chooses)
biggest donator in the game has £16k in front of him from his third £100 pull-up
everyone is licking their lips
guy comes to the game, semi-regular, apparently a winner but i don't see how other than for the fact the game is lolsoft and he maybe doesn't tilt very much
buys in for £200 a couple of times, loses that, decides to pull up for everything in his pocket - £3.5k
loses that, bank wires the guy that runs the game £5k, buys in for the full whack when the following hand occurs: there's some action preflop, reloader is first to speak on a 458r flop, checks, donator pots, he calls
turn is To, check, pot, call, river an A
reloader leads for pot
donator pots
reloader announces all-in
donator says '67? guess we're chopping then' and calls
reloader leans forward, looks at the board, stands up and says 'i need to go home', puts on his coat, and leaves.

Not the greatest story but, the only one I could think of -

Couple of years ago at the Nugget playing 1-2nl, 20 something European dude sits across from me in the 3 seat (think I was 7). Anyway, guy is playing loosely and sees just about every flop so I'm starting to drool a bit. I finally get in a hand with him and get his stack of 200. He goes off the handle a little bit and is now gunning for me. Few hands later I get QQ. Action is to him first and he bets. I raise, he shoves all in. I call and he has AT. Flop is Qxx and I take another 200 off of him. Now he's steaming. In fact, he's so mad, he moves to the seat to my immediate right that just opened up so he can have an advantage on me, lol. A few hands later, I have 66 and the flop is something like QT6. Naturally, this guy gets all of his chips in while he is gunning for me for a third time and he turns over K9 for the gutshot draw. Turn and river are bricks (whew!) and the most of the table is trying to stifle laughter. He finally got up and left after that one

Late night 1/2 game. Both guys to my right are rough looking trucker types that obviously have played together a bunch. The less tattoo covered one is telling the other about an app on his phone he v uses to keep track of wins/losses. Tattoo guy then proceeds to brag about how little he knows about technology. He proudly shows off his flip phone, then says he has never used a computer.

"The only time I've even touched a computer was in state prison when I picked up a monitor to smash a guys head in with ”

I totally believed that story. Fun things overheard at the tables..

Short one:

I tossed two $1 chips to the dealer after she pushed me a pot, and one of the chips bounced and went right down the jackpot drop slot. I couldn't make that shot again if I had 100 tries.

My buddy who taught me how to play poker and I were visiting vegas in the late 90s and he says "Watch me put on my dumb poker player act...." So we have a couple beers and we find a limit holdem table and he gets put in the 1 seat...acts like he doesn't know where to get chips.......empties his pockets onto the table and pulls out 60 crinkled dollars as everyone at the table stares at him in disbelief etc. But the best part was after about 5 hands he lights up a cigarette (legal then) and starts using the jackpot drop slot as an ash tray....that was where I lost my straight face.........
