I would have challenged him to meet at the nearest gas station if he did that to me.

At the Orleans, Las Vegas, I watched a 300lb neck-beard pull out half folded slices of Kraft singles out of his wallet and eat cheese at the table, 8 levels deep into a tournament. I did not see him reach into his wallet for cheese in the 4 hours prior.

I would laugh and yell 'oh no Harry Potter cast a spell on me' after the guy, followed with 'ten points to Gryffindor!' if I got him to look back.

That man had too much cheese in the wallet, had to put it down his gullet instead.

Playing 1-2 PLO at the Horseshoe in Hammond, IN. This guy has roughly $700 in chips. He racks up and goes to dinner. This guy is gone over an hour, so everyone at the table starts asking for the floor to pick his chips up and get another player in there.

Eventually the floor does decide to pick him up and move the next player from the feeder game to our game. So we get a new player, he plays a few hands, and then he also decides to go to dinner. He racks up his chips and leaves for dinner. He's got about $700 as well.

So, the first player comes back from dinner and sits in what he believed was still his seat. He unracks his chips and begins to play. None of us even realized it was a different player. That guy plays for about a half hour. Now the 2nd guy who left for dinner comes back to see a guy in his seat and playing his chips. He's like "hey, you're in my seat playing my chips." Other guy is like "no, this is my seat. I've been here for hours, I just got back from dinner." They call the floor over. Floorman is like, yeah we picked you up. These aren't your chips. I have your chips at my desk.

So, for 30 minutes this guy was playing with another players money. In that 30 minutes, he won around $200. The decision was that guy doesn't get to keep any of the winnings he just made, rather the guys chips he was actually playing, that guy gets to keep the winnings.

We all start dying laughing as the first player bitches up a storm that he should at least get to keep what he won playing off the 2nd guys chips. Nope, he got nothing.

that is a great story. often times I don't realize someone leaves the table until well after the fact, so the fact that you guys didn't realize the first guy wasn't the same as the second guy seems totally logical.

I bet the guy wouldn't ***** if he was down a couple hundred.. could you imagine.. "sir we're going to need 200 to replenish the stack that you played"

That would be easier, since they have his chips in a bag. Would be worse if he lost more from the other guy's stack than he had.

But the fact that we would make him pay for any loss indicates to me that he is right, and he should be given whatever winnings he had while playing the other guy's stack.

Total cluster****, obviously. I'm not sure who is to blame in the end.

I blame the second player. If that were me I’d be annoyed about the hassle, but I can’t imagine keeping the $200 the other guy won.

The players are both idiots, and it sounds like a poorly run room as well. Why would you rack up your chips and then not take them off the table anyway?

Because you were coming back to play in the game, and racking the chips protects them a bit more?

It doesn’t sound like that was much of a factor anyway.

Protects them from what? It obviously didn't protect them from someone else playing with the chips, and racking the chips definitely makes them far easier to steal.

Fine, I was referring to individual chips, but obviously it’s easier to grab a whole rack. I still don’t understand what difference you think it made here with both players 1 and 2 doing the same thing.

Racking the chips is likely what led to the mistake. Everyone's racked chips looks exactly the same, but there are many different ways of stacking chips and arrangements of stacks.

Funny ass story. Should have let him keep the 200 lol. Hate those guys who go to dinner for 4 years on a busy night when you could have a new player. They always come back right as floor is about to pick up too lol.

This highlights how unobservant most poker players are. I once played 1/2 with my friend at FW for two+ hours while his very identical twin was playing with us at the same table. 10 handed, for two hours+ and I finally asked the other 7 guys if they noticed anything out of the ordinary. They all looked around and finally noticed that the same guy was essentially playing in two different seats.

It's not always so easy to distinguish identical twins.

So I'm in Tourney this past weekend and we're down to three.

V1: descent/aware player
V2: time waster, received several warnings to this point and actually dropped the F bomb on me as I was calling clock as soon as the action was on him (trust me, it was warranted.. he was razor thin to getting DQ'd per the Tourney Director).
Hero: Me (duh)
***NOTE*** I guess it's an extremely enforced rule that if a card(s) are exposed prior to action being completed/hand over, than a one orbit penalty is enforced. This is probably common, but if not figured I mention it.

Blinds 20k/40k 4k ante

V1: goes ai after flop
V2: is doing his annoying/pointless talking and eventually ask V1 to show one card, to which V1 does.

As soon as V1 shows the card, V2 starts screaming "Floor! he exposed a card when he should not have."

The dealer went over the events that unfolded and the director said "continue with the hand".. to which V2 folds. As soon as the hand ends the director says V1 you have to sit out an orbit, then looked at V2 and said "you too".. "you know the rule and you were trying to get him to break it on purpose.. you're lucky you're not DQ'd at this point".

So here I sit, for three hands collecting blinds and antes with J2 and other garbage. It was one of the most amazing things I've seen play out.. I was lol'ing every time the dealer pushed the post my way.

Why even play out those 3 hands? Why not just have each of them give you a round of blinds and continue?

The clock moves towards the next blind level. It matters to the short stacks.

What would be even funnier is if Noles tanked when action was on him. With no one to call the clock on him, I am not sure how they would handle it.

Or, as an eff you to the scumbag V2, noles could have folded when V1 was in the big blind. I might have actually been tempted to do that.

now that I think about it, I should of had a chance to have an option but as soon as I got the cards the dealer was pushing the pot so I didn't really have a chance to tank.. probably had something to do with it being 3am too.. everyone just ready to get it over with at that point.

Great story. I love it when d-bags get their just desserts. Kudos to the tournament director.

I'm pushing you the pot immediately when I pitch the last card. I'm not going to speed up from my normal high-ish pace, but I'm not slowing things down at all in this situation even if you want me to.
