I would love to start making poker vlogs as I not only enjoy creating content, but can also use as a source to get feedback on hands as well as look back to review. Looking for a low profile type camera that doesnt really catch anyones eye at the table that accepts an SD card and also has a battery life of 8 hrs or so My searches have come up empty and I have accepted the fact that a camera like so just may not exist. If there is anything out there matching the criteria I am looking for, I would love if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks

As far as recording hole cards, I think most people just use a smartphone.

Check with the room manager before you try this. People have gotten banned for recording gambling areas

I think the first thing you should do is decide what you want your vlog to be and how you plan to do/structure it. Then plan around that. I do not think you should be concerned with "the best" camera but instead look for one that "works for what you plan on doing". I think most vloggers use the cannon powershot G7X. Start small and make sure it is something you want to commit to before you dump a bunch of money on expensive gear. There are more former poker vlogs than there are current vlogs for a reason-editing is very time consuming. As people have mentioned here, DO NOT attempt to record hole cards without permission from the property. Its not worth the trouble/consequences. What happens if you get banned from your favorite room? Ceasers properties? MGM? You could really harm yourself for nothing. Don't be the ****head who tries to sneak around the rules doing petty ****.

Are there poker rooms that allow recording at the table? I just caught a guy doing this a couple weeks ago and I was wondering if it had become a thing some places... He was using his phone and had the screen brightness turned all the way down to try and hide the fact he was recording tho so idk.

Several vloggers list what they use:
Andrew Neems - iPhone 6s
Jeff Boski - iPhone 7 Plus
Jaman Burton - Galaxy Note 8

So, a smartphone seems standard for capturing hands at the table unless it is a situation where there is open recording.

Just curious: did you ban him for only a day because first offense or does your property have rules in place that require a longer ban?

Pretty much the only time it's allowed is if a room is hosting a Vlogger's game, and they put up signs upon entering the poker room stating "Filming or photography is in progress. Entering this area is consenting your image can be used for promotional or other videos" or something like that.

From what I've heard most casinos used to be more strict with the no photo/vid policy. Now it is a lot more lax in the era of camera phones, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter etc. Rayz did get banned for photo/vid on property but has since been reinstated at HSI.

Jeff Boski was recently asked to leave South Point for filming at the table. The only casino I have seen with a sign that says that taking pictures is permitted is the Four Queens and they don't have a poker room.

I didn't 86 him. I told him it wasn't allowed and he stopped. If he would have tried to resume again later I would have bounced him. Our rules don't require a ban as it is situation dependent and left to us to use our discretion.

A normal ejection is a 24 hour ban for pretty much everything. The max ban I can give anyone as a manager is 72 hours. That is reserved for people that I feel should never be allowed back. The 72 hours is to give enough time for the GM/Head of Security to make a final decision.
