What happened to that post about the View Royal casino in Victoria BC looking to reopen their poker room? Did it get taken down because it seemed like advertisement?

I phoned the casino last night and talked to the floor manager. She asked a few questions and took my name down on the interest list for the poker room.

They asked how often I would play and they are waiting to get enough interest from people. They also asked if I played online on their site... Not sure how this is relevant to the poker room. They didn't explain.

I called and left my info for an interest list... This seemed pretty preliminary and I don't feel like they are too close... What they did say was that if and when they open poker it will not be electronic tables like before but a full poker room... I lived in Winnipeg when they first introduced live NLHE at the Casinos and it was a very profitable time... So we can hope...

Victoria Casino is a joke. To me they are not a legit casino if they don't have a poker room. I remember playing in their poker room years ago and I would come with non-poker players who would gamble the tables. I would sometimes play the tables too. That business is now lost because they do not have the good sense to operate a poker room. Too moronic to diversify.

Now their market research consists of taking names at the door. lol.

^there's a handful of underground tournaments ranging all over Victoria now because of how ******ed the great canadian gaming corp (or whatever they're called) is.

I went in there a couple weeks ago asking about a poker room and the floor man straight up laughed. Not disrespectfully, but because of how often people are asking them about it....

For what it's worth, I emailed the General Manager of the casino this morning to ask for an update on this and this was his reply.

They have been saying that for the last two years. Every time I go there they always tell me they will reopen poker in few months. I have pretty much just given up on it.
