After making limited trips to DBKC because of a variety of reasons, I ventured back recently to check out the new player friendly changes that have been reinstated after the new manager Mark took over.
I must say, DBKC is on it's way to becoming a first class Florida Poker room.
This all before they open their new facility next month.

Tourneys are structured better

They have a $235 satellite to the WSOP main event on May 4th. It is rumored that they are giving away 4 seats. Plus travel packages. with super sats. leading up to the date.

Ipods are allowed at the tables

No need to post to play

Snacks allowed at the tables

You don't get DQ'd from a tourney if your phone rings.

Etc. etc.

Thanks Mark and good luck with the new facility.

WOW! That is a huge change from when I was last down there. Ipods at the table is great they might be the only one in Florida that does this. The phone ringing thing is minuscule as most people should know, but the rest of the rules are truly geared toward the player. Hey tek if you read this you may want to check them out after they open their new facility, but their old one is garbage.

I played there today. Trip report to follow. The place was a dump honestly but I guess the new building is opening. The daily tournaments are still awful. I don't know about the ipod rule as I had mine on the table the whole time but everytime I put my cellphone on the table people flipped the **** out. I would never go back to this place except if I got a ride with someone to play cash or they had a really good deep stack.

sup. a couple of my friends from orlando were going over to daytona today for a donkament, so I tagged along. On the way to the place we saw that they were building a new track and clubhouse, which is great, because this place was really dumpy. The one main thing I noticed was that we were directly in the shadow of the speedway, which must make for great action when races are in town.

It was a pretty modest, yet bustling place. The brush was one woman at a podium handing out torn laminated cards. I bought into the tournament ($65 ******o-fest - more later), waited about 15 minutes and got into a 1-2 game.

The table was incredibly easy to control. Most people were just checking when they didnt have anything and betting when they had anything middle pair or better. My first big hand had me popping AKhh to $10 from MP and one of the blinds called. Flop came all rags and the caller led for $20, I made it $60 and he folded. I later picked up two black tens from the big blind. The table limped so I made it $15. Only one person, a huge donk with a stack around $300 called. The flop came Q3x rainbow and I didn't pick up any tells from the guy watching him watch the flop so I lead for $20. He immediately sighed and shook his head before calling so I was shutting down until the turn was a red T. I thought it would be funny to sigh and shake my head before I checked, which led him to overshove me in. I snapped and he had 33. Ship it. I immediately moved to his left with a stack around $200. The next (and last) hand I played to showdown was me UTG+1 w AKhh. Donk limps so I pop it $10, it folds around to him and he makes it $20. His range is immediately JJ-AA obviously and I call and the flop comes A24. He leads for $20 and I tank and try to work out the hand. I ask him how much he has left and he starts talking about how he'll gamble with me and **** and it just seemed like there was no way he had AA and would say the stuff he did so I overshove and he snaps with QQ. Ship it. I hit and run to go play the tournament but ship $335 for a $235 profit in cash.

The tournament seemed to be like a standard florida multi donkament. 2k chips, 20 minute blinds (this gets lol later). There is a guy from some radio show in Orlando at my table and there's a $100 bounty on him, as well as a bounty on a random seat that switches every level. Early on I pick up 99 and make it 250, the button (who had just bet 1k into a 200 pot previous hand) calls and so does a guy on my right. Flop comes Txx check and I lead for 400. Button calls and I put him on total bs. Turn is whatever I fire for like 800 with 550 behind and guy calls again and I shove before the river is dealt. River is whatever so the board is ten high and the guy tanks and calls and shows AK. I thank him profusely and later knocked him out when he got short. I'm up to 5k really quickly and hover between that and 7.5k and the only hand I lost was when blinds went way up fast and I called a shove w/ TT and the guy had KK. My table broke and I move to a table with one of my friends. Suddenly the time between blinds is cut from 20 minutes to 12 and then 8. this was never announced publicly. I steal and steal and shove over the sb in my bb when I flopped top pair and get up to around 10k when the break comes (going into 4/8 an hour and a half into the tournament lolol). My friend had just lost w/ his tptwo vs. a rivered flush and had <5 bb's left so I stove him a range in my head and tell him to shove that and he'll win. We come back and a few hands later on my BB he shoves and I look down at AA. I chuckle and call and he has KK. That brings me up to <15k where I stay for the rest of the tournament. The blinds go up every 8 minutes from 4/8 to 5/1k to 8/1.5k (lol what) to 1/2 to 2/4 and 3/6k and i just fold through all of it and steal a few times which was lol. I'm around 13k when we finally break to two tables. We're at something like 3/6 or 4/8 and people are just busting like crazy but I notice my blind is coming around and only top 10 pay. I was given a payout sheet during the break and there was 9.5k in the prizepool so I do some quick math and propose a SEVENTEEN way chop for $560 which after enough people got behind it (since most were sick of flipping) and started yelling at everyone else I got to happen. The tournament director was the biggest ****** of all time since I had approached him about stopping the clock so we could talk about it but he just refused and was babbling and **** so I finally just got it done myself. The best part was that we all agree, he counts out the prize money and just leaves. He leaves 10k on the table with no security and 17 poker players. I couldn't believe how poorly run the place was. Anyway we worked it out but like some guys started yelling about tipping the dealers $50 which was a total beat but whatever.

ship a $680 overall profit on the night.

Anyway, long story short, this place is a dump but a new place is opening but the tournaments suck, the TDs are autistic and the cash games are just equal in ******ation to everywhere else so honestly don't even go here. the end thank you all very much.

It's not really going to be across the street. When you drive out of the current parking lot you turn left, and then at the 1st light (Williamson) you turn left again and it's going to be about half a mile down the road.

I've heard the same about the MTT's in Tampa: Blinds go up ridic fast, so you've gotta be lucky early.
