You mention Phil Laak in your description of the magician but do not list him in your top 10? The guy is a carbon copy of his best friend A.E.. I would find anyone that does pushups and situps near the table incredibly irritating and annoying.

I cannot stand Phil Hellmuth. He always has to complain or whine when he gets beat. He just needs to grow up.

Lists like these are inherently subjective. Some people can find players annoying because they talk too much, or too little, because they're too splashy or too nitty, too confrontational or not confrontational enough, too self-promoting or too reserved. Plus, there's always editing involved, so what we're seeing may not be an accurate representation of what a player is really like.

For me personally, the one thing that bugs me most when watching poker on TV is when they get top notch players (Ivey, Antonius, Durrr, for example) who I'd really like to see play a cash game, but who just use it as an exercise to indulge in prop bets that make it so the cash game stakes - and thus the cash game itself - are meaningless. As a result, we see poker action that is an afterthought. Don't get me wrong - if I had the talent and money these guys do, I'd probably find it a struggle to otherwise get excited by cash game stakes like on PAD, but they need to think of the viewer, which is why, IMO, HSP gets it right. End of rant.

Yeah, there were some strange inclusions and omissions in the list but I thought the comments were funny. And, while it's not Doyle's fault, I agree about all the ass-kissing he gets at the WSOP. A friend of mine told me that once he was playing in the ME, Doyle walked in and some fat guy stood up and went "DOYLE BRUNSON ! YEAH !!" clapping and staring at everyone who didn't stand up and clap like they were Communists. GTFO.

I think most of the 'annoying' poker players make it more fun to watch. Hellmuth, Matusow etc. but then there's people like Laak who are just plain annoying.

Even more annoying was seeing Jerry Yang adopt this methodical approach during this years National HU on NBC.
Even w/ fast forwarding my DVR it still seemed like an eternity (and Jerry, you're NO Chris Ferguson).

seriously there is a week of PAD where a few times he says things so awkward or out of nowhere that everyone at the table just pretends they didnt hear him. Somehow he managed to be the most annoying player at a table where Matusow, Belande, and Annie Duke are there...

Just to point out one thing. Barry asked Dwan (off camera) if it was ok to say that (it was for charitiy after all!), and Dwan was cool with it. Plus everybody knew it was a joke and for a good cause. So no big deal.

Then Doyle, Antonio, Patrik ... they can be anywhere. But certainly not on a "most annoying ever poker players" list.

NO seriously, I think the list just represents my personal tastes...

I enjoy watching the antics of Laak, TonyG, Hellmuth, Matusow... therefore, they don't annoy me.

But someone like Elezra who is inherently not annoying makes the list, because he gets too much tv time and its enough already.. he becomes annoying through over-exposure..

I would like to add many other people to my list, shall I post a new list soon?

Leaving out Helmuth but including Doyle is pretty much enough said IMO. I understand your Doyle reasoning, but it's not correct to include him on this list, it's not his fault he gets all that recognition, he's not asking for it~He just wants to play cards.

1. Esfandiary is great, funny guy and good player
2. Elezra is pretty good, not super but certainly not bad
3. Greenstein is legend obv
4. Nguyen is pretty funny
5. Moneymaker meh sort of lame but no reason to be on this list
6. Patrik is one of the best players out there and a joy to watch, very funny guy as well
7. Negreanu well ok I'll give you that one, a bit obnoxious but certainly not one of the worst
8. Brunson, if any Brunson should be on this list it's his idiot son
9. Shannon, you base this on one silly superstition? Really?
10. Sam Simon, apparently if you make a funny show you have to be a comedian all the time? Lol get over yourselve.
