Mainly this thread is geared towards my own plans, but it can become a general thread b/c imo those threads are more useful that ones geared towards specific ppl's needs.
  1. Do hotel prices rise as we get closer to certain dates? (Example: June 23 @ MGM starts at $139, 3-4 months from now, If I try to book, will that price go up?) So is it better to book early (if you are 100% not to cancel)
  2. When is the WSOP at its very peak (in terms of TV pros in vegas)
These two are my main concerns: I wanna go there when there is alot of action, and lock in a cheap room (with a nice pool). Temperature makes little difference to me.

Details and thoughts about my potential trip:

My friend (21) and I (21) will go, possibly 1 more dude (19).
I am the hardcore gambler, one of them is medium degen, other (19) is not really. Gambling will not be the most important part of the trip, though it will be significant.

Here I ordered the items by most important (hotel) to least important (clubs)

Hotels:

IMO most important part will be sitting/swimming in pool while drinking (for me). Mandalay, MGM, and Flamingo come to mind b/c of the pools. If we stay at Flamingo, we will not settle for anything less than a GO room (b/c rest of place is a POS I hear). Ideal price range is $150 and under (balla).

Casinos:

Gaming: I play NL50 online, anything around that range would be good (100NL if it exists). Also some low stakes MTTs for my buddies would be nice ($50 and under), structure is key for the MTTs. We don't have to gamble where we stay.

Shows:

After we lose our bankrolls, we will need some type of justification for coming to vegas. I really dont know what type of shows 21yo men watch. Any insight.

Railing WSOP:

Well I am a railbird so sweating a 50k HORSE FT or 10K PLO FT (or any FT for that matter) would be great, any one know how this is done? Also railing non FTs would be fine.

Night Life:

1 of us is about as socially developed as mentally impaired child.
The other is very unconfident and over compensates, creepy.
I am fairly normal when 4-8 drinks deep.
Don't know what else to say; they are both pretty much squares and I am not as much of a party animal as I was in my youth.

That said, the other two like to drink. How do you get drunk during the day for cheap? Ideally I wanna be drinking near the pool, but If I need to go to liquor store I will.

Price Range:

Nightly rate should be no more than $180 (Less than $150 ideally)
Cash Games and MTTs no more than NL200, $50 buy-in (NL100, and $30 tourney buy in ideal)
Shows/ Clubs no more than $50 a head (less than $35 ideal)

Mainly geared towards poor college kids' budget.

Any other info would be good.

I'll add more later but as a general rule, the first two weeks and during the ME are the 'peak' times during the WSOP.

Seems to me that the rooms and drinks get cheaper during the hottest part of the summer, like late July early August, cause normal people wouldn't be vacationing in the middle of the desert when its 105 degrees. It didn't mind the heat.

For shows I'd suggest any of the Circus De Ole - I saw KA - it was decent

Have lived here a few months and been here for the WSOP in the past. Not trying to be rude, but almost all of your questions have been answered here in the past or can be easily found at allvegaspoker.com, vegas.com, or by googling. I don't mind trying to help, but at least go look for some answers yourself first, then come back and I'll answer any other questions you have.

Not for 50 bucks.

OP, you guys will get carded, and often, unless you look old. No strip clubs for you unless you abandon the 19 year old.
