I'm sorry for your negative experiences and am in no way trying to marginalize the effect they had on you. The difference between you and people working in the service industry, including dealers, is that you can just walk away / table change if somebody says something to you.

I have made this exact point for literally decades. The casino experience is a complete and total energy suck. In order for me to survive it is imperitave that I have enough positive in my life to offset the negative that the casino is.

If I were to engage in every negative situation that occurs that energy suck that the casino is would be magnified a 100x which seems to be the exact case that you are in.

We both agree how negative the casino is
My solution is spend the necessary time there and not a second more
put on your teflon before entering the casino
dont engage with tools
add as much fun stuff as you can in your life

Agree some words are hateful but again his hate doesn’t speak about me only him. Sure his words might get a reaction from me but not so much that I feel bad about myself

Not necessarily true if you are playing poker to pay the bills and in a specific game or at a high enough limit where you can't easily change tables. I almost never play any games where I can choose to change tables.

If it's directed at you personally, it's entirely within your discretion at to whether you should speak up, if it doesn't bother you that's up to you.

Different story if someone is abusing another person, then yeah more likely you should speak up.

There is middle ground between saying nothing and "losing it." Work on finding it.

There's one game I won't play in bc there is a nasty, miserable old man who makes the game no fun at all. He's a losing player but I'm not going to spend all day seated near him listening to his BS.

I've never lost it at the table, I just leave when I know I'm really angry. But I have been thrown out of two rooms. Both times the floor was arguing with players and I wasn't even involved in the hand. Both times the floor clearly wanted the players to agree he was right, rather than just make a ruling and move on.

The first time had gone to 30 minutes, the second one was over 20 minutes. Both times I said to the floor something like, "Just make a ruling. Can't we just play poker?" Admittedly, I probably had a sarcastic tone. But I was tossed both times.

The second time was in the most poorly run poker room I've ever seen. It was a dump 5 years ago and has reportedly only gotten worse. I only went there bc it was closest to my home. I've never been back and they are struggling to stay in biz. They no longer can get 2-5 players and often can't even open a 1-2 game. I'll be happy to hear when they close for good.
