How many WSOP events have Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson and Gus Hansen played over the last couple of years? That number is probably a single digit. Combined, all three of them.

I doubt many players who sit in Bobby’s Room all evening play $1500 events at the WSOP.

There are obviously lots of tournament pros who play a big WSOP schedule, but you won’t see most of them in Bobby’s Room or Ivey’s Room.

You should see PHell and DNegs at Rio, plus any others that are playing a heavy load. I had good interaction with both, but I got lucky. They have limited breaks and are there 'working'. I also saw Mouth, Grinder, Jesus, Bonomo and Greenstien as well. On the flip side, I was standing basically right next to JMercier and didn't even recognize him when I was railing the $50K. (He was on my side of the rail, where you don't expect to look for him!!)

I think the tournament players are a bit more receptive than cash players but I did have a great conversation with GMeuller a few years ago when he came out of Ivey's Room at Aria for a potty break.

Keep the expectations realistic and hopefully you will come away with some good moments. GL

All my opinions...you are staying at Bellagio and are with your GF, so play at Bellagio. You can waste a lot of time moving around the strip if you are not careful. With that said, I would not make playing the top priority. You are on the strip, so do the strip. And that means nice dinners, shows, the Bellagio fountains, a walk in Bellagio's gardens, walk from Bellagio THROUGH Caesar's and the mall, etc.

Now if you did not already have a room, I would have recommended GN on Freemont street. If you were in Vegas for a week, you could do it all on Freemont and be getting bored by the end. But until you did it all, Freemont is more fun especially if you are young. It also feels more like the old Vegas you hear about. The strip started out with a get you into casino XYZ and keep you there the whole time; and it still tries that. But downtown is about getting out and hopping around.

Finally a general comment about your trip overall. It sounds like a very nice visit. I am completely guessing from that itinerary you are coming another country (Europe?). My comment is you are really not doing the destinations their fair chance. I prefer to have fewer stops and do them more completely. Places like NYC, DC, Vegas, etc can easily keep you busy well over a week. In only 2 or 3 days, you can't even really scratch the surface of what each has to offer. (This is especially true for DC which can keep you busy for a month easy.)
