there are no casinos in texas so lots of underground.. one of the underground charge $10 day fee membership + $10/hr seat fee.. no rake per pot or tip to dealer..

i've not been paying attention to rakes in casino so i dont really know how much usually in an hour for $1/$3.. i also usually play $2/$5 live in casinos outside texas..
but as i said the options in texas are limited so we play underground games..

$10 per hour is good. When our casino had time rake (years ago), it was $6 every half hour. No tipping actually makes it amazing!

(In France, the 5 Euro / 5 Euro PLO game was 30 Euros / hr!)

You won't find a lower rake.

It's much more than you're paying in this game.

Your room:

Say each player averages a 5 hour session. The "day fee" is then $2/hr.
Plus the "seat fee", that makes it $12/hr per player.
10 handed table makes it $120/hr.

30 hands an hour makes it $4 a hand.
20 hands an hour makes it $6 a hand.

So, are your tables usually 8, 9 or 10 handed?
How many hands an hour do your games get?
How big are the pots (ie how much would a legal casino's percentage based rake be for comparison)?

These are slow dealers. In a 1/3NL game I expect 35-40/hr.

Definitely should be at least 30 hands/hour. I cannot imagine getting only 20 in unless they run it twice or three times every hand

with no tipping the dealers have little incentive to deal fast....

If a poker dealer is only dealing 20 hands per hour, which is one hand every three minutes!!!, then they aren't going to have any players sitting at the table.

I'd be on suicide watch if I only saw one hand every three minutes.

This turned from what sounded like a 'nice' spot to one that would drive most nuts in the long run. There's no reason to expect that much tanking/shuffling to go on in an hour. Most 1/2 tables with below average Dealers take in $90 per hour at a $6 max rake .. and that's with quite a few 'no Flop no drop' spots and plenty of limp-fold Flops as well mixed in there.

Good Dealers will rake as much as $150 per hour with $110-120 being the 'expectation' of most operators.

If you compare that to $20/hour per player to start ($180-200) but then drop down to 'only' $90-100 per hour if everyone sticks around you can see that it's similar to lots of casinos and room in the USA. GL
