Is the rake at Crown the worst in the world? - Poker Card Room

There is no BBJ, and drinks are at standard bar prices, e.g. $2.50 for a Coke, $6+ for a beer.

So, does Crown Casino have the most expensive casino rake in the world?

Star city in sydney is worse. Don't remember exact numbers and cant find them but its pretty horrid.

That's pretty awful but I have played worse (one of the Central European casinos the rake was 10% up to the equivalent of $20 and we were playing the equivalent of $20-40 limit so it was almost always max rake).

Is the time charge per hour or per half?

Wow. That is horrid!

I played in a few rooms in and around Vancouver, Canada which made me realise how badly Star City in Sydney robs the players!

$1/$2 - 10% of pot capped at $8 plus a $5/hour time charge. No bad beat jackpot or high hand jackpots and bar prices aren't any cheaper than standard.

I'm pretty sure Crown is considered the best casino in Aus regarding rake. Only reason I can see to go to an Aus casino is APPT/ANZPT.

I was under the impression 2/5 was now $5 rake for 50-99 and $10 rake for 100+ pots, but I haven't played that game in quite a while. Everything higher than 2/5 is only $25/hr though, which probably works out lower than 2/5 rake and is pretty decent, not sure how long it will stay 25 though. Crown is def not the lowest rake in aus fwiw

The room here in Korea has same rake for $1/$2, 10% up to $20 for anything higher. There are comp drinks though

ok, honestly, I've never played there. I was going to go once, heard what the rake was and promptly said "**** that!" especially when there are plenty of very soft games happening in bars on regular nights and there is no rake at all to play there.

I had heard from people who had been that anything above the 1000/2000 tables had a 20,000 rake cap, but I could be wrong.

I play at the crown regularly and I am disappointed at the way they treat the poker players, as well as the big rake there is no benefits for the poker players, no comps only free parking. They recently changed the drink prices, they use to be cheaper at the tables. That is what happens when you have a monopoly in the state.

Wow, I thought Detroit was bad (6+1). I guess I better not move to any of these countries. But really, how does anyone ever play at these places, they end up basically taking all the money off the table in like 3 hours.

Those rakes are high! I've heard of higher on some cruise ships and underground clubs, but nothing even remotely close to those at any legit casino here in the states.

And people complain about the CET properties taking $5 +$1 in Vegas for rake!

It's 20€ which is almost $30. There are some casinos that have the rake uncapped for the duration of EPT events they host, which is really crazy.

Sounds like you just have to luckbox a few hands over a few hours and be satisfied! Sounds like grinding out a living would be very hard except for a few very adept and dedicated players!

Worst I heard is on cruise ships: 10% with NO cap. Also, all bets, even those uncalled count for rake. So if you bet $100 on the river and don't get called, $10 still goes to rake.
