Firekeepers in Battle Creek, MI will reopen their 'outstanding' poker room on March 18th.

They plan on hosting their bi-annual MSPT $1100 BI tournament in May but probably wont hold any qualifiers or sattys until the week of the tourment .. if at all. GL

Still no official announcement from FKeepers, but the poker room Dealers don't have any pit hours on their schedule after the 18th .. so ..

The MSPT has also taken the May date from FK off their calendar as of the day I posted the above. Smart move on FK's part IMO since they wont be ready to host a 30 table event by then with all the new Dealers they'll need to pull it off .. smart, smart, smart ..

Also .. Motor City Casino in Detroit opened on Saturday to very little fan fare. 8-handed, chips are in a bag when you BI and you have to cash out and rebuy chips if you do a game/table change. GL

Thanks. Definitely need updates on players per table as jurisdictions begin to relax restrictions.

Firekeepers Casino in Michigan WILL NOT be opening their poker room as of yet. No firm date, but it's now "April' unofficially.

So no 'tribal' poker in Michigan as of yet, but the 3 'public' casinos in Detroit are open.

And yes, we are also happy to see Ohio open up as Indiana has had poker since late Fall. GL

Has anybody been to Borgata poker room lately? I was thinking of going tonight since NJ capacities have increased to 50%. I havent played live since covid and would rather not drive 50 miles if it's not worth it. I'm looking to 1/2 or 2/5 for NL and especially PLO if games are running? thanks

I haven't been since they reopened (and I cannot play there anyway) but the Borgata room thread is very active and folks there can definitely let you know what's up and you can determine if it's worth it.

Does anyone know when the Oaks is going to reopen again? And when Palace Poker, Bay 101, and the Matrix are going to have poker again? (Bay Area). Thanks.

Any updates on Firekeepers? Cheers, mate.

Latest news on FK is May 1st opening, but nothing published.

The chatter was they needed to skirt their contract with the MSPT tour, possibly fearing they would have an overlay of the $1M prize pool during the May event. If this was the case I think they underestimated the Player pool and/or they felt they wouldn't be ready with substantially new staff to properly host this event.

IMO 'any' tournament guaranty is a formality and could've been taken care of with ample 'notification' .. so I'm going to give them props that they just didn't think they would be ready to host such an event (in Michigan) by the time May rolls around .. but only they know and it's a pretty tight lipped group. GL

Via 'The Trooper' YouTube vlog .. there's rumblings in Vegas that on May 1st the capacity and plexiglass 'mandates' for casinos will be lifted with only masks required indoors. It's nice to know that somebody is thinking that far down the calendar! GL

Caesars doesn't own Eldorado Shreveport anymore, as of Dec of last year.

Ballys buys Eldorado

Although their website doesn't show it yet, I contacted one of the regulars in the old 20/40 game at Horseshoe to see if it is running yet and was informed that it is restarting this week, Thursday, at Eldorado. So I guess, if they're not open yet, they will be open at the end of this week. Sucks they're having it there, as a Diamond member I'm pretty much locked in to the Horseshoe and am not going to feel like driving back and forth to ElD. Guess it's NL for me this weekend.

Says on Bravo that Bravo is down but the room is open at ElD. Their website still says closed but I believe the note on Bravo.

Interesting about the Thur 20-40 game. I saw it on Bravo a couple of weeks ago at the Shoe. Or at least I thought I saw it.

Not strictly a covid reopening but L’Auberge Lake Charles has a new poker room. They took advantage of the law change approved last year and made a room off the boat. Six tables, open 10AM until last table breaks, seven days a week. I have not been but assume the are either nine or ten handed since LA is open at 100% capacity. Don’t think there is plexiglass but still have mask mandate in place. Room is near the events center so will be no wander by spews.

LB room had closed shortly before Covid and after lock down closure the filled the old space with machines. I expect their sports book will go into the same area once regs are finalized.

Are all the dealers that had to go to Durant going to come back to Winstar?
