When the LCs talk about where they play, they seem to be referring to their real money play. The online qualifiers for the show are freerolls. Andre and Troy both say they play live, which is true of their real money play, but they both did qualify online.

the lineup is sick though (for fun purposes). Nice to see Ansky and Kachalov playing in TV cg`s. I start enyoing this big game (LC is w/e). Too bad that some ftp guys can`t play here, since stars pros are mostly tournament donk luckboxes and are absolutely not fun to watch, unlike FTP ones

Honestly, I like Daniel Negreanu. I always have actually. I think he seems a good guy who really cares about poker as a whole, not just the money he pockets from it.

That said, more recently and in this episode of the big game he tries way too hard. If I didn't know who Negreanu was, I'm pretty sure I'd be asking who the douche at the table is who keeps making snide, unfunny comments. Say what you want about Hellmuth by comparison but he took several jabs from DN that he could have taken offence to and he didn't. I know they're friends off the table but If my friend made constant comments about my play or when I last won a bracelet I'd be p*ssed off with him. Negreanu made plenty of demeaning comments about Hellmuth's game online and on PAD, the lack of respect annoyed me and I'm hardly a great Hellmuth fan.

The comments about the LCs age were patronising, even if he didn't mean it to sound that way. He made way too much of a spetacle of himself. I mean I like some table chat but jeeeez he went way ott.

I agree with this. DN seems very condescending to the LC's when engaging them in conversations. DN acts like he is so funny and interesting, but instead he comes off like a little dork. Did he say something last week about Lex being a "cute boy?"

he tries to ask them questions so they can open up and talk about themselves imo.

the reason he is invited on to televised cash games and PAD is for doing exactly what he has been doing on every week of the big game.

Hes good for tv poker. its entertaining, it gets you guys talking on the forums.

same goes for phil helmuth. all of the banter is good for television. i promise the casual viewer doesnt want to watch a bunch of stone face 20 somethings loooking for the best cold 4 bet spot. that isnt poker to the average viewer. poker to them is one person interacting with another person and trying to get a 'read' off of them to help them decide what the best move is on each street.

pokerstars is trying to put together a TELEVISION show here and IMO are doing a damn good job so far. this show is quickly becoming my favorite poker television show. great concept and has had some pretty solid poker content so far.
You need characters like DN, PH, phil laak etc etc. theyre entertaining.


only thing i think needs a bit tweaking is the screening process for the LC. but hey if you qualify through freerolls whatre ya gonna do?

the guy last week was pretty solid. was sad to see him not do better.

hoping this week's episodes and LC isnt as dull as tonight's episode but i trust DNs statement about it being a good week. its nice to see Anski, prahlad and katchalov on a televised cash game.

this weeks LC seems down to earth. will be rooting for him



also props to daniel for realizing the game has passed him a bit and for putting in some hard work to improve his game and keep up with the young guns and internet wizards. you can tell he really wants to play the best he can and improve as much as possible.
