I've been thinking about this and I am wondering if the lack of pure online qualifiers has anything to do with the lead time necessary to produce season 1 of the show. I dont remember when I first saw the commercials for the qualifiers but I dont think it could have been before May which is when most of these episodes were said to have been taped. I am thinking that maybe to fill the seats during the first few tables they held open casting auditions at some casinos? Pokerstars Steve could probably clear this up...

Also Steve, when there is one of the online qualifiers will they mention that in the loose cannon's intro and possibly give a SN?

They can't invite them, that's already been established. Its an interesting observation though the Stars seems to go after more of the flavors of the month in the tournament world while Tilt has more of an established crop of high stakes cash players.

Personally, I'd like to see Sevier signed with Stars and be on more of these shows, icluding HSP. I was fascinated with his play last week.

So we should be glad PS is showcasing the new players. Nowadays you only get to see new players there and on the WPT shows. HSP used to show new players, but nowadays the fixed group of Ivey, Dwan, Benyamine, Elezra, Doyle, Esfandiari etc. are always there, leaving only one or two seats for new players.
Full Tilt seems content to keep on bringing on unappealing known players like Gavin Smith, Chris Ferguson, Andy Bloch, Erick Lindgren, Howard Lederer etc. time and time again on PAD and their own show. After all who needs current stars when you still have the 2006 player of the year.

Seat 3: Prahlad Friedman - Sucks at rapping worse than Troy Howard (no I'm not joking)

Did anyone else catch this moment:

Daniel chats with the Loose Cannon at about 7:40 (pokertube-time) and then asks him "was it before or after he won his last bracelet?" Now pointing to Phil Hellmuth and Phil looks disgusted. Daniel has really become a jerk at the table, he is trying way too hard to be funny.

Second moment (around 13:40) Daniel first asks Stern how old is he then speaks some gibberish for a moment and then asks the Loose Cannon: "Is that annoying, THESE GUYS talk about how old they are?" Like Daniel would be in the same boat with the Loose Cannon who is knocking eighty! And it was Daniel who brought the subject up.

Third moment: Stern asks Hellmuth is he getting bald (pretty douche question) and Hellmuth shows the hair. Daniel says something (don't remember what) and is clearly uncomfortable of the subject because he would be bald if his hair wouldn't be deep-frozen.

Daniel used to be on of my fauvorite players on TV, now he just seems like he doesn't know what the f*** he is. He disses the internet guys although knows that most of them play a lot better poker than him. On the other hand, he says that the old school players suck today (which is partly true) and tries not to be considered as one.

He used to be funny, now I just wish that he gets felted on every TV show he is in. Kinda good entertaiment nowadays also but on another way.

I really have always liked Eugenes and Prahlads game, be interesting to see how they run in a cash format and Joe Stapleton is doing an awesome job imo, always makes me laugh
