Just signed up for a year of pokergo. A few questions.
1) Does the "on demand" section show all their content? Do they lose content over time? I don't see some of the things that people have recommended watching. For instance, no Triton cash games or Rick's home game. I do see a Triton million tournament but no cash games which I have seen recommended before.
2) What's the best non-hold em content? Mix games, PLO, etc.
3) I watch on my android tablet in bed and the program doesn't obey the rotation lock on the tablet. I often like to lay on my side and watch the tablet so it's physically standing on its side but I watch in widescreen. I can't do this with the app because it automatically rotates to portrait mode. Any way to lock the rotation from within the app, or make it obey the tablet's orientation lock?
4) In general, any content besides the obvious HSP that's really good and worth watching?
The series isn't in the upcoming schedule on pokergo but most of the PGT series are streamed. This being mixed games I have my doubts but I'm still hopeful.
Thanks for the link .. There is a 'Watch' column shown and the next PGT event to watch will be the US Poker Open in March. There will be Live Reporting on a lot of those PGT main events, but I assume that's their internal version of live reporting and not associated with PokerNews or other.
While one (including me) could assume that the PokerGo Studio was just an extension of Aria it does appear that with all these PGT events that they very well could be heading towards their own entity .. or at least growing to the point where they have their own staff of dedicated Dealers.
Might have to dig in and see if all the PGT events are rake free if you register early .. doubtful since they do need to come up with the $1M for the freeroll event next January.
The dynamic business approach that Katz has created here (and had the patience to let grow) seems dream like to me. I've wanted my own poker room for a long time .. and then be able to play in it and take down a bunch of cash as a Player to boot. For all the crap that Katz has taken over the years you have to give some credit here. GL
Pokergo wsop streaming schedule is out. I am more excited for this year than the past few years by a lot.
I know everything is tentative but the fact they are planning on streaming days 3 and 4 of the 50k Poker Players Championship and then the final table on day 5 is one thing I missed in previous years. There are even multiple streams planned on the same day.
Some of the streams say (Horseshoe table) is there going to be hoke cards/commentary on these? What about if/when there are 2 streams at once? Will both have hole cards and commentary?
It would be a huge step up for them if they gave you a choice as to which table you wanted to watch or if you could split screen them. Possibly one will be on YouTube and one on PG as well. As far as Hole Cards it just comes down to staff and what table is in use. I don't remember if they had hole card access to 'other' feature tables last year. I do know they had up to three tables set up with rails and that the boom cameras were able to reach at least two tables along with other standard manned and unmanned cameras.
I think Vegas will be at an all time 'fevered pitch' this Summer up and down the strip with so many poker options all condensed into a few blocks. GL
Anyone know what happened to all of the one off poker live streams that used to be on the site? "Return of Tom Dwan" being the only specific one i remember. Like what happened to all of the Garrett games (at least 1 or 2 right?)
Yeap. I registered here to update this and save others from the bad beat and irritation and lost time you will suffer if you try to sign up as I did via the Youtube Poker Go "JOIN" button.
TLDR: ***Do not sign up for Poker Go on Youtube unless you like being scammed with bait and switch tactics, or unless you actually want to pay $15 or $20 for their service, which isn't reached via the "JOIN" button. The "JOIN" button seems (to me, proves) to be specifically a bait & switch scam aimed at scoring 1-time business of $2.99 from as many unwarned dupes as possible.***
If you just want to watch the blacked out channel content, the "JOIN" button leads you to believe it will allow you to do that for $3 or $4, due to its placement. It actually won't. The $2.99 or whatever roughly $3 fee only gets you "perks," which are likely all the videos on the service you don't care to watch, and would pay NOT to have to watch.
You'll likely discover that whatever made you decide to sign up isn't paid for via the "JOIN" button, but by a separate service that costs $15-$18 (I don't remember and don't care which).
Just know: the "JOIN" button is a bait/switch scam. The way it's placed, and where, it's pretty difficult to see as anything but an intentional scam.
Somebody asked if this channel is bad for poker.
IMO it's bad for everything. They get you to pay for something you don't want by leading you to believe it's for something you do. Then Youtube basically has no functional customer service to reverse the charge and immediately cancel the service. Bad business. Bad for poker, bad for humanity.
Nope, you're completely justified. They did the same to me, betting against any prospects of my future business as well as my relationship with my credit card company for like $15 in what was a clear scam.
They didn't even attempt to deny it, just "yep we scammed you so??". My card company was like, why would they say that, there's gotta be more to this. They probably spent more time investigating it than a normal scam where the angle is obvious lol.
