Norm telling the pro commentators essentially to go do something better with their lives is annoying also.

Incredible analysis from Galfond right now.. spot on about how Polk should be shifting his opening range to include stuff like A2 and K8 against the shortish stacks to his left.

Well look at that, they listened. It now shows that this is highlights and what time they come back from dinner break!

Norm's style of humor is out of date in this new PC culture. He used to straight up insult people's appearances, life decisions and more.

You guys realize it's (mostly) sardonic and in jest right?

Yeah but it's just dumb.

Imagine tennis commentators saying to Nadal, 'Hey Rafa, go do something useful with your life instead of hitting a ball over a net.'

Now that would be some funny commentary.

Are we really comparing poker players to world class athletes? Poker is usually very boring to watch, unlike actual professional sports. If you dont like his humor, thats fair. To a large degree it is needed when commentating on poker though.

We are comparing people who are by and large at the top of their chosen field. I believe top prize in this event is larger than in any tennis tournament.

Someone like Galfond discussing ranges and breaking down hands >>> Norm discussing anything.

I get that there is dead air sometimes when there aren't many interesting hands but they have to do better than what Norm currently does.

It's bad enough when people make comparisons between unrelated sports/games but now we are comparing the commentators too. I can't imagine tennis commentators talking about the sweat rolling off Nadal's butt or even this:

They have to cater to the casual poker fan as well. Again, Im not saying you have to like anyones humor. There does need to be a balance of hand ranges/hand breakdowns and light hearted entertainment. Personally, Im a Joe Stapleton fan. I think he hes both funny/entertaining and has a pretty good knowledge of the game to comment on hands.

I actually don't mind Norm and Lon. At least when a big hand happens they tend to stop talking about random crap and at least call out the action (even if there's no analysis). Some of the tournaments I've seen old mate will be crapping on about his Christmas holiday or something while someone is making a huge river decision for their tournament life...

Not to change the subject, but this is a classic.

After seeing in some posts here and elsewhere that they were making a few improvements each broadcast, I figured I'd subscribe for a month and call up to cancel so I can give them a bunch of honest feedback.

Yesterday it worked perfectly fine, today? None of the VoDs will start with my headphones plugged in. Not even joking. Unplug them, works perfectly fine again.

I'm a software engineer and I honestly have no idea how that's possible. Videos on every other site work fine. They've managed to **** up in a way that genuinely impresses me.

I'm watching on the iPad app.
A survey came up as a little pop up.
It said there's X number of players remaining, who do you think will win. So basically, it was a spoiler.

Idiots.

Is it just me or does Hellmuth just seem more delusional with each public appearance?

Tried signing up, page load times were really slow. Submit buttons did nothing, etc. Just an FYI - hopefully their streams run faster then their website.

It's only 10:30pm on the West Coast - when a feature event wraps up a bit early, it'd be lovely if they would show a bit of something else, like Dnegs in Event #9 today etc.

Norm's humour would be great if he had someone who could also break down the hand ranges etc with him. Would make a nice balance.
