I was in Vegas a few weeks back for business but wasn't on-strip (was staying at a house nearby); went to the ARIA to place a bet and grab dinner and figured I'd walk by the poker room to see how things were looking - this was on a Friday night for NFL Opening Weekend, NBA/NHL playoffs going on, Fights in Vegas, etc.
Absolute ghost town of a casino - and what was my favorite poker room that on any given weeknight will have every table full and a list of 100's of players waiting looked like it had about 6 tables running (room wasn't even a quarter full), with a handful of names on the waiting list.
Dramatically fewer players + tables = less action. Add into that you are playing short-handed and everyone is wearing masks there is far less of a "drinking & gambling for the fun of it vibe" which is usually when the games are the best.
But I guess based off of one hand you witnessed at a Ceaser's 1/3 table we can confidently say - Poker is Back Baby!!!!!
