I say, "well, I don't have a job right now. So that means I'm either a poker pro or a poker bum." and I kind of shrug my shoulders. I'm pretty good at feigning lack of confidence because I have plenty of it (just not usually at a poker table).

But when I sit down someone always says "watch out for that guy he is serious" or dealer would say "you do have a job, you play poker for a living". Once I got an established pro image I can run bigger bluffs and steal pots easier, because they know I play long hours and 9/10 I have the nuts.
Dealer should never be making comments like that. I would have a talk with him when you can catch him along.

I had a similar problem. I'm a regular at my local charity room, and it's no secret that I'm a tight player, but there were always be a few players at the table who are new. Once I reraised a guy and the dealer's head kind of snapped up. After the hand, the dealer said something about that being my first raise in two weeks.

It's OK if the dealer calls you by your first name. If you're a regular, that will become pretty obvious from table conversation, since the dealer is not the only one that knows you're a reg. But if the dealer says you're a pro, says you that you're there every night, or comments on your play, that's way out of line.
