My favorite combination is Harness Racing and a good poker room. Sadly, there are but a few places to indulge. I'm just starting this thread in the live poker section to see others thoughts about the subject. I'm not referring to greyhound racing- I'm OK with that, but it seems it is limited to Florida and Council Bluffs. And won't be around much longer.

I really enjoy the visits to Pompano Park and The Meadows in PA on race nights. Sadly, the very best harness racing is at Mohegan Sun PA, but the poker room remains in the dungeon, with no view of anything. Dover Downs suffers from this as well. And, I've yet to visit Harrahs Chester or Harrington, DE.

In the Thoroughbred Department, Gulfstream is probably the coolest place of all. Walk out the door of the poker area, and you are at the finish line of the racetrack. And its very easy to get a bet in. Tampa Bay Down also has great sight lines for racing, from the upstairs poker room. I've visited Presque Isle Downs, but it was early in the morning- no cards OR horses going at the time.

Most jurisdictions allow the use of a betting app, so I can play from my seat.

Are there any other poker room/Race Tracks I've not listed? Any thoughts on the subject?

borgata has horses next to poker room.. but you cant see them live so maybe not exactly what you need to indulge

Yes, thanks. Was talking up "live" racing. Many places in LV that have the book next to poker. Bellagio, Mirage, MB, RedRock are some of my regs.

I'd forgotten Charles Town. I've been twice. Another place I've been several times is Prarie Meadows. Great upgrades there over the last several years, to poker, dining and a hotel.

Minnesota has both harness and thoroughbred and is a great place to spend a summer vacation.
