Poker dying in Vegas? Poker dying in Vegas?

Pre-Covid (summer 2019) my friends and I planned a bachelor party in vegas for one of my friends (typical!).

I've been to Vegas many times but never really played poker at a real table, I was really excited! Four of us were planning on spending the majority of one night playing poker.

Come the time to play, we went to poker room after poker room and it was EMPTY. We were the only four registering to play. We started off at 1/2 tables, then even tried higher blinds...nothing. This was a busy Saturday, no-fight or event, but Vegas is Vegas and it was still packed.

Went to multiple casinos and it was the same thing. All night, no poker. Very disappointing! Ended up playing blackjack rest of the night.

Has anyone noticed this pattern in the past? Did we just go at a wrong time?

Thanks!

Were you using Bravo Poker app??

Aria/Wynn/Bellagio/Venetian the big staples...

Ceasars, Flamingo, Ballys, MGM Grand, South Point, usually all smaller games

If you can't find a poker game on the strip, you ain't trying. Good grief.

I don't believe you. Alternatively, you went to a bunch of the casinos which either don't have poker rooms, or have very small ones. If you were out on a Saturday night in 2019 and went to Caesars Palace, Aria, Wynn (Encore?), Belagio, etc, there would have been many tables going.

So either you are lying, or you went to a very odd selection of places.

5am to 10am can be kind of slow but other than that there is consistent poker action year round in LV. Check poker atlas or bravo poker live for currently running games.

Even with Covid going there's plenty of action here. 8 players per table. Maybe about half as much action as there was before Covid. It will all come back after Covid.

Vegas poker is hopping now. If you can't find a game, and want to play big, I will fly you in for my game. GL

It has obviously been slower with less tables running than pre covid. Games can be good here and there. But the city and poker is nothing like it was a year ago with thousands more vacationers every day...

Vegas and poker will rebound in the future, there will most likely be a few less room which will help consolidate the players and make the remaining rooms busier and provide better table selecting options

The Orleans has 14 tables running right now and the lists are huge. I would say well over 100 waiting.

But they are not going to open up any new tables - I guess there is a limit set and this is the benchmark.

I don't the folks waiting care much about the restrictions.

You’re paying for travel & accommodation? Sounds interesting.

Does "fly you in" includes accommodation?
