I play plo8 and Big O... what is plo5? Im guessing what some call congress? 5 card plo high only?

There’s both high only and hi-lo and I think National Harbor spreads both.

5 card plo8 is Big O

i heard of 5 card plo being called congress

plo8 exists as well,

OP hasnt specified what plo5 is yet, so we dont know what he/she is looking for.

Congress is the 5card PLO high only and Big O is 5 card PLO hi lo. Most people just call everything Big O. Your best bet for Congress is at MGM National Harbor or Maryland Live (both in MD), although they just call it 5card PLO there.

Glad I'm not the only one....I feel like this is a name only used in the Washington DC area

I've always heard it called 5 card PLO high or maybe PLO5 when written for Bravo or something like that

I can tell you for certain that the DC-area cardrooms do not use that name.

hahaha, ok, fair enough. I just assumed that it was used there because of the poster who commented about Maryland Live and National Harbor.

Oklahoma was where I heard "Congress" used and was the first place I had seen anything other than traditional Omaha. At the time, it was on the cash-game boards but has since become a ring event at the WSOPc tourneys.

yea I've only heard it referred to as congress in oklahoma, and that was 5card PLO8.

I used to deal at the greyhound track in Pensacola, Florida and we spread a ton of Big-O. It ran pretty much nightly and would sometimes get up to 3 tables on the weekend. I remember some of the players referring to it as “Congress” when they first played it in private games. The game in Pensacola was 8 or better, not sure if the private games they referred to were high only or not.
