12: Declarations. Cards Speak at Showdown
Cards speak to determine the winner. Verbal declarations of hand value are not binding at showdown but deliberately miscalling a hand may be penalized. Dealers should read and announce hand values at showdown. Any player, in the hand or not, should speak up if he or she thinks a mistake is made in reading hands or calculating and awarding the pot.

RP-12: Dealers Should Announce Bets and Raises
Dealers should routinely announce non-all-in bet values as betting proceeds around the table. All-in bets will be counted only on request of the player currently facing action. Accepted action continues to apply (Rule 49).

Pending any language in Dealer reference guidelines for the room, there's really no clear language suggesting that 'all' or at least two hands must be tabled before they are read AND ANNOUNCED by the Dealer. There's nothing in the TDA rules requesting/requiring the Board to be adjusted as part of the hand reading process.

There's been other threads that have touched on this as well. IMO a Dealer should do what it takes to keep the game moving along based on the tone of the table and any history with the specific Players at Showdown but lean towards immediately announcing hands as they are fully tabled. At the 'right' table I might caution a Dealer from announcing a hand that was tabled out of order, or at least delay the announcement a touch to allow the Player who was supposed to show first to do so.

I see no issue with the Dealer announcing the whole hand, which includes the kicker and any 'highest' flush card that plays. "Flush using a Queen" or "Aces and Sevens with a Queen" are complete announcements of a hand. It takes 5 cards to win so why would we discourage the Dealer from announcing all the cards in use?

I don't want the Dealer to say 'Board' in any fashion .. just announce the hand that the Player is playing.

While OPTAH is definitely in play, Showdown is not part of the 'poker' in the game. If you want to argue that the Dealer shouldn't adjust the Board to visually show what cards are in use for the ANNOUNCED hand, then I can see your point since it's not specifically stated in the TDA rules .. but it may be in the Dealer guidelines/policy of the room/tournament.

Yes, table your hand and the rest will be handled for you! But we all know that it's just not going to happen that way.

Why do we have an order of show at Showdown if we hogtie the Dealer until there's two hands tabled? As stated over and over and over, keep the game moving along. Certainly we may expect an increased amount of formality at a MTT Final Table or at a higher stake cash game. But in reality we are all playing 'our' stake of poker and thus can impress upon the Dealers what tone we'd like to see during the session. GL
