Hey guys,

So there's a big live tourney coming up near my town next month, looking at a 320-400 field size 700$ BI. The only problem is that I've never played live casino tourneys before... So can anyone help me with tips about the main difference when comparing live tourneys vs online?

I have grinder over 10k tourneys online managing to break even in the long run. I feel comfortable playing in a 350 field, even if hands play much slower compared to online, I also don't really believe in live tells unless your hands are literally shaking from stress... how different is bet sizing though?

Tells are a real thing.

Tells don't believe in you, either.

Decide now your strategy vs limpers from various positions and stack depths.

Bet sizes tend to be bigger.

If you don't believe in live tells, then you are already very far behind the curve, because as someone who played online 98% of the time for 6-7 years, and changed to live poker after Black Friday, I can tell you it took me a few months to start to pay attention and really look for live tells, but watching and paying attention to peoples tendencies and how they act in certain situations, increased my win rate far more than any other thing I have learned in poker over the years. It's a lot more than just looking for "shaking hands"

1. I 2nd the bet bigger bet sizes.
2. Tells aren't always obvious but completely ignoring them would be comparable online to "I could use the super user account but I don't feel like it"
