If you clear your personal history, you can watch various apps try to figure out where you are based on demographics. For example, because I frequently follow links regarding professional poker players, apps frequently think I live in LA or LV. (I get ads for Southern California Honda dealerships, etc.)

Big Data was a problem when humans had to sift through the data. It has not been a problem since people started programming computers to do it.
If you don't think your old high school classmates who work for tech companies have pulled your file out of millions to see what you're up to, lol.
So yes you should keep your private spending off of the Internet. When you go buy sex toys, pay in cash. When you take your mistress out to dinner, ask for separate checks and turn off your GPS. But when you pay your rent and buy groceries, there's no reason to use cash.
(And don't rent to people who need to pay in cash, ldo, what do you think the probability is of someone who can't get a credit card being a nonidiotic tenant?)
