I am not any sort of expert at teh pokerz. But I kind of think 88 is a bad hand to be 4-betting preflop with. But calling the 5-bet seems like a really bad mistake unless he assigns Adams a range composed almost entirely of air. If 88 is behind, PH is not getting anything like the correct odds to call that 5-bet.

Also, get rid of Ali. Seriously, he adds NOTHING.
He doesn't do any analysis, and he doesn't add anything like Stapes does with his jokes/etc.

He just talks over the table talk, which I'm actually listening to... Until Ali comes in and they mute the TT.
"And the Grinder calls with 10,8" Yes, I can see that Ali
I gotta disagree here. I mean, dislike Ali if you want, but I think his greatest strength and the thing that distinguishes him most from other commentators is that his commentary is rather minimalist. Usually you can hear all the table talk. That was part of the appeal of the show for me. As far as muting table talk to add commentary, others do that constantly (like on The Big Game, for instance). If its table talk you want, PAD was the best show for it. I really don't get your opinion. Seems completely backward to me. Except for Stapes. Love Stapes, and it only got better when Huff joined.

Anyway, probably a pretty moot discussion anyway. Doesn't seem like PAD could possibly have very many new episodes given the situation with FTP. Bummer.

Btw, its funny that someone mentioned their Tivo misses PAD and its the only one. I had a glitchy Comcast box that messed up nearly everything at one time or another but PAD was one that always came through.

The way Hellmuth thinks about it, by only betting one-fifth pot, he's representing cheese being placed in a trap.

Before Hellmuth arrived (thursdays episode I believe) Matusow was talking about his hand reading skills and traps and cheese and I remember thinking, he spends too much time with Hellmuth, if he doesn't watch it he'll turn into a second Hellmuth himself.

Yeah, but Matusow is playing reasonably well and not at all like Hellmuth so far. He made a nice 4-bet with A9 when he thought Brandon was FOS and also got paid off when he hit his gutshot with 76.

I loved Mike's "When I played on HSP two years ago I played two hands in eight hours and won 400 grand, that's how you play poker". No Mike, winning two major coolers is how you play poker.

Just finished watching the current PAD cash game running with Bellande, Jetten, Ferguson, Matasow, and Mizrachi/Hellmuth and have to say that this is the most boring poker broadcast ever. Was this just an extra series of episodes that PAD had in the can and decided to broadcast after BF because they had nothing better to show?

For the most part the atmosphere of the game is lax, no one is really trying to outplay anyone else, very ABC and very boring. Give me Durrr and Ziigmund any day. IMO Ferguson should be banned from playing cash games on TV as he is the biggest nit ever and adds nothing to the enjoyment of the game from a conversation/table talk point of view. In tourneys he is great, but I would rather watch a bunch of trained apes eating playing cards and pooping out hands than Ferguson playing cash.

Bellande is less of a d-bag than in the past, but not by that much. If he doesn't quit complaining about how broke he is and how he can beat anyone at limit mixed games I'm going to vomit. These two statements are quite incongruent. "I'm so broke but here I am playing a 100k buy-in cash game"(Played with this guy twice in the WSOP and outplayed him by a wide margin both times) JRB acting like less of a d-bag is like the healthy options that McDonald's offers, its still not health food, he's still a doucher.

Yes, ChristianT has all the details and the episode correct.

So it would seem. This is absolute garbage. Jetten and Adams are playing OK, but Matusow, Bellande, Ferguson and Mizrachi are basically wasting space.

That first hand took way too long. FFS BA. Fold and get on with it. I'm hoping this week is better than last, but that hand does not portend well.

It's funny how JRB questions BA of his river decision (dumb and douchey imo) but not realize every other street someone played way worst.

Poor, poor Jean Robert...he can dish out a lot of crap, but can't handle some well-deserved critiques from Hellmuth on his AQ move on he and Ferguson.

Rather spewy from JRB. The line made no sense at all, particularly against Chris "the Gnat's Ass" Ferguson's three bet.

Raise, call, call, biggest nit in the history of the world (Ferguson) 3-bets (I guess he technically squeezes, but when has he ever squeezed?), overcall by another infamous though tricky nit, and JRB pot-commit huge 4-bets w/ AQ? WTF? I'm just a micro-stakes grinder, but what in the world was JRB thinking there? I'm always shocked by how often only-play-AA,KK,AKs Ferguson gets paid.

In all seriousness, if someone can explain how JRB's move is ever EV+ in that spot, I'd love to hear the explication.

he is out of his league, he even said it himself.. feels more comfortable at 10/20nl, not 400/800nl... a lot of the others at the table can lose 100k and not blink... not for jrb tho

I heard him say something last week about being better at mixed games than hold 'em. I've also noticed how little JRB 3-bets in general, and how unconventionally in general he plays many big hands, but I thought I was just catching an un-representative snippet of his range balancing or something.

I like how Phil went on about folding his 4,4 pretending like he was forced to lay down Q,Q or something.
What a turd-bucket.

Just out of curiosity, about how much of that $100G was JRBs?
Didn't he probably sell off 90%?
