You're going to watch the hand Daniel plays against Gus where he is almost 100% certain he got rivered and almost folds a higher full house... like he does NOT snap call with a boat he really wanted to fold but couldn't... and then you're going to tell me he's the worst? Back in the early seasons DN was damn near the best.
The middle seasons, his play suffered for a few reasons. He was having family issues, his fundamental cash game skills weren't that great and I think he was having a little lack of DN Luck.
During these recent sessions, his play is much better. He's figured things out and plays some crazy hands against Dwan. Hands where people like Howard Lederer consistently make the wrong play and DN consistently makes the right one.
Whoa ... slow up there hombre!
I'm not claiming DN is the worst player in HSP, not even close! DN has been unlucky (although not as unlucky as he and Gabe pretend), so he looks like a losing player on that show, but he's far from the worst player IMO.
I do think he suffers from the same problem that (seemingly) a lot of 2+2ers do, and this is, he thinks he's much better than he actually is, but I think he's a long way from the worst player.
I'm just sticking up for Eli, who I think in the later seasons has been looking like one of the best. He has a great knack for making winning plays with small hands. In addition, I think he's one of the only guys there that doesn't get pushed around by Dwan, which is an even bigger thing than it might initially sound, as Eli's hand range would presumably make him one of Dwan's biggest targets.
