I bluffed that I had hit a straight draw. When I got called I said "Nice call" and turned over my bluff. Obviously I had mis-read the hand and had the straight. When the dealer pushed the pot to me I was "WHA?????" and then make BIG Mea Culpas for my comment.

(At least I didn't muck my bluff - I've read too many posts here about "Just Show It")

I'll add another TT hand.

1/2 NL. Playing at a casino I've never been to before, don't know anyone. Table seems to be full of regs. I've been playing for about 3 hours when the following hand happens...

It was a couple years ago and precise details are a bit foggy but this is the gist...

Stacks ~100bb effective.
an EP limper, I'm in MP with TT so I raise to ~$10, old nit directly on my left that I don't recall ever raising and for sure not 3 betting, 3bs to ~$30. EP guy folds and I decide he either has AA or KK and go for the bad set mine call. Flop is K86r, I check and he checks behind and I basically say no myself, "damnit he has KK".

Turn is a T so I lead for ~$40, thinking to myself I'm folding if he raises me at any point in the hand. He calls.

River pairs either the 8 or 6, giving me a boat. I lead for about half of my remaining chips (~$60) thinking I'll get good value out of AA and leaving myself room to fold to KK. He insta ships and I am instantly pained with the decision of actually folding a boat. I tank for a while and legit almost fold, after a few min I basically just decide I'm not capable of folding a boat and call. He happily flips over AA and I instantly blush and show my T's full and the table gasps and everyone is like WTF were you thinking about?!?! I started to explain that I had him on 1 of the 2 hands he actually did have but knew it was just going to sound stupid so I mumbled some **** about being a nit.

It ended up being quite a nice session as a few people tried to bluff me, the perceived giant nit, who in reality, hates folding.

TLDR - I nit rolled river shove for not much more vs old nit with TT vs AA on K86T8 board.

I have done a lot more idiotic things than this, but I once did the 3 barrel bluff of my flush draw, which failed to work. I missed the flush but caught a runner-runner straight, which I didn't noticed until I double checked. I bet the river, other guy called. I said "I missed", looked again and said, "oops, I made a straight" and tabled my hand. Other guy was not pleased.

First time playing PLO8 live (probably had around 100 hands played online at the time). AAxx. I 3bet pre, 2 callers. Don't remember flop, but I c-bet and got one caller. Turn went check/check. River comes and all I have is the overpair. He bets, I jam. He tanks for a while then calls. Knowing my pair wasn't good, I say "you're good." I'm holding my hand ready to muck but waiting to see his hand. He just looks at me since I should show first. I get annoyed but know better than to muck without seeing his hand. I say "I just have aces." We just still stare at each other for 3 or 4 seconds. Then he says "it's good, just show it."

I completely forgot that lows were even a thing in the game. He called me with just the nut low and we chopped. Felt like a total dumbass.

Playing in the Mirage very early in the morning a few years ago. Very tired but too many drunks still there so just couldn't leave.

Deal spins my first hole card over. Put my hand on it and look. Ace of Clubs. While my hand is on the first card he sends the second over which slides under my hand so pick the bottom card up. Ace of Clubs.... For some reason which still escapes me immediately loudly declare I've been dealt two aces of clubs. Dealer says really, I say yes, still haven't moved my hand. I look at the bottom Ace again and ask how that happened or something. Dealer is looking very concerned so sit back look at my cards again. Only one Ace. The other card had slid over the top not bottom and I looked at same card twice.

Very embarrassed and drunks had a field day with me. Left shortly after.

one time I was tilting so started playing 8-16 O8. Ended up folding the low in a big pot at showdown because of inexperience. i couldnt go to a casino for a week after that.

Only thing I can think of is calling out that I have a straight flush when I really had the royal flush, I mean who doesnt know when they hit a royal?

Guess im running good on looking like a complete dumbass at the table though compared to some stories in here lol

Just remembered this cringe-fest:
Early days of Borgata, downstairs poker room. HUGE 1-2 pot. I shove on a favorable turn which includes a pair and a flush draw; villain tanks. I'm standing, like a dork who watched too much poker on TV. Dealer deals river before villain calls--it completes my flush but villain speaks up and river gets redealt. Villain insta calls expecting the flush not to hit twice in a row.

River pairs board and I yell F$%& and toss my cards down. They catch the air and hit the dealer in the face before they land face up on the table. The dealer looks me dead in the eye with that "you're an idiot" face and goes "chop."

I didn't lose the hand. I felt like a moron, apologized, and tipped the dealer $10, and left. That cringe feeling stuck with me ever since. I've never lost my cool at poker since that day.

At a 2-5 table early Saturday evening. Already been a rough week with work and family so a little on the edge - wanted to focus only on poker with minimal interaction.

I am in Seat 9 and Seat 10 is an Asian young guy with over 2k - biggest stack at the table. I sat down an hour ago and I have doubled up with a few pots (run good + players viewing me as too loose/bluffy). Seat 10 does not look happy as I am too active for his liking and he previously folded the best hand when I bluffed (and lost to another player).

Seat 10 starts to lean towards me leaving a lot of space between himself and the dealer. I usually put my chips to my left and he complains that my chips are in his "space". For whatever dumb reason, I respond with "Move the **** closer to the dealer". The other players want to keep me (the fish!) at the table so they make space for me to my right.

I refuse their offer and brusquely tell Seat 10 again to move instead. Floor is called and Floor tells me to move my chips. I demand a table change and floor just says "move the chips". I now completely lose it and tell Seat 10 - "you won't get these chips ****er! you won't get these chips ****er!" and I rack up my chips & leave with the floor standing over me.

Felt pretty embarrassed afterwards for leaving a great game, losing control of myself and making a whiny guy look good with my over-reaction. That stayed with me for a few weeks and every time I went back I tilted myself wondering how I was perceived and ended up playing badly instead of focusing on poker.

Not too bad but bad enough for me.

Was playing 1/2 nl sat down with 200 was on bb with 78ss few limpers I check . Flop 910Qsss I bet out 15 get raised to 120 from a shove bigger stack pushes over his raise... I think and fold face up ... turn 6s would have hit straight flush but not over guy that shoves over top had KJss for bigger straight flush would have won BBJ for 100k

Years ago, playing 1-2 in a casino for the first time.

A couple of limper call (scary looking guys with huge $300 stacks !). Gets to me in BB and I look down at 2-5o. Being concerned with nothing but my own cards i, of course, fold! A old guy across the table kind of mutters, "Now that's tight in anybody's book".

I learned a lot in that first session, not the least of which is that poker players humor can be brutal.

1. Folded pre flop, flop would've made me quads. Out loud I talk about how I would've flipped quads before realizing hand was still going on.

2. Had straight flush draw on flop, 4 way all-in. $1500 pot. Made 1 pair by river. Thought I saw someone flip over a straight. Muck my hand only to realize he had a lower pair and my one pair would've been good.

Time to man up. This happened last week at the Peppermill in Reno. I'm dealt 76 and limp into a mutiway pot. The flop comes 45x two spades. Opponent bets, I call and everyone else folds. Turn comes a 3 of spades, making my straight but completing a flush draw. I check, opponent bets and I call. River comes a 3, pairing the board. I check and opponent checks back. I flip over 76.... of spades.

The dealer and a few players at the table gasped that I had hit the straight flush, and I found out that I was in line for multiple bonuses. I had no clue. The worst part is that if my opponent had bet a significant amount on the river, I was almost instantly folding.

I can't beat that ^ but I made a fool of myself recently.

Playing live 1/2 I get dealt AKcc. I can't remember the pre flop action but 4 or 5 of us see the flop of KAx. There are 2 of us left by the turn, me and an Asian woman who was just calling down everything. The Turn is a blank, I lead out, she calls. River is another blank. I bet, she calls, and then she says "you got ace/king?" I nod, she sighs, and I turn over my cards, looking at her while I do so. She looks over and says "Whaaat?!!, AK?". Confused, I look down at my cards and see the 4Kcc.
I mumbled an apology as she took the pot with TP and I left the poker room.
I've read plenty of stories of players misreading their hands and I've always thought "wouldn't happen to me, not that dumb". Right.

Love this thread. Mine isn't live poker, but when I first started playing online I took a starting hands chart and turned it into a spreadsheet for fast access. More than once I typed my hand into what I thought was the spreadsheet, only to see my hand announced in the chat box. Not the worst but only thing that comes to mind.

Haha that is the first time I have laughed in this thread in a long time. Probably because I can see myself doing something similar. Probably because I have.

I think I have accidentally typed my password to another site in the chatbox before, luckily I used different user names/passwords at each site but still, seeing your password in clear text for the world to see (even if they have no idea what it means or if they did how/where to use it) can be scary. I just hope online poker will someday be legalized in the "land of the free" so I have the opportunity to make the same mistake again someday.

Not poker related but just thought of this and made me laugh at how stupid I was.

Probably 16-17 years ago, I think I was in 6th grade? And I was playing Starcraft and it was the first time I saw the phrase "lmao"

I asked what it meant and a dude typed "fatass" and said its Spanish

So I was at myrtle bean doing go karts and some dude bumped into me and I yelled out "YAM-O"

Cringeworthy thinking of it but stupid funny regardless.

Playing the colossus last year, accidentally opened from the button to 4500 at 100-200 when I meant to open to 450, got shoved on by the button who had like 6500 and I had to call off with K5o (I beat her TT, she got very annoyed at me).

Enjoyed the read;
Made day two of a V 150k guaranteed a few years back. Nearing the bubble sitting in seat 6 on the button with above average in chips. Folds around to me, two shorties in the blinds. I see QJ suited and announce all in to steal the blinds. They fold, I go to scoop the pot, dealer declares "player all in". Seat 4 had not folded but shoved all in. I asked "where is the all in button?" dealer points at it in front of seat 4. Only defense is the guy in seat 5 was huge and hard to see around. Seat 4 had AK, and has me slightly covered. Wins on a AK flop, no 10 to save me.

Also just starting out in a casino daily. Did not hear a declared all in, verbalized "call" thinking just the blind. Had to call the all in with junk and won the hand, knocking him out. He was not happy. I need to pay attention more or get a hearing aid.

Live 1/2 NL- Bored out of my mind......everyone has 200+ stacks except the old lady on oxygen on my right. She a regular and seems to play with her extra $40 per week from social security or something.

Limped pot and flop is 10JK , she bets 10 and I raise with garbage, something like 57o, she calls, and checks a A turn. I put her all in for her last $15 bucks praying for a fold.......she starts tanking and tanking.....I get nervous and start telling her I will show if she folds...I got the straight! I tell her....she eventually folds KJ face up and I feel compelled to keep my part of the agreement.

I show the bluff and everybody moans......she calls me a "little stinker" and I feel horrible.

Not doing that again!
