1/2 NLHE game at my local casino..one of the loosest regular players in the game folded his hand in position to a standard pre-flop raise. There were two players in the hand and the final board read Q7J7J. The origional raiser had QQ, the caller had JJ, and the guy who folded freaks out and digs in the muck pulling out the 77 he folded. If he had called, he would have lost the pot (approximatly $600), but hit the bad beat jackpot of several 10s of thousands. Everyone at the table asked him why he folded the 77 to a standard pre-flop raise, and he simply said that he put the initial raiser on a big hand.
Later in the session he called a raise and a re-raise totalling $40 (obviously alot for a 1/2 blind game) with 10-4
out of position. When I asked him why he would call with the 10-4
and not the 77 he told me it was because with the 10-4
he had 9 outs to hit and with the 77 he only had 2.
