The most absurd part of that is the button not betting the river

Your version of "Deal or No Deal" sounds boring.

This happened online, but it's such a special kind of absurd that I felt compelled to share it. I'm playing PLO8 on Bovada and a new player sits down, plays 100% of the first 10 or so hands he is dealt, calling any and all bets to showdown. His rationale: "Got to find out who the donks are."

Hey man you don't have a lot of time to figure that out, you got to get cracking.

After all you remember what Mike McD said 'If you can't spot the sucker in your first 30 minutes at the table, then you are the sucker.'

Two players all in one with a straight flush. Player rakes the pot and then claims that if you drop a cat upside down it will land on it's feet 99% of the time. I dunno seems high.

If dropped from height of 12 feet or higher he's right.

Depends on the height from which they fall. Cats reach terminal velocity at only about 100 feet of free fall, during which they twist to position their bodies upright, and after which they spread and relax their limbs to absorb the eventual impact.

A cat that falls from less than a story might not have time to right itself and relax, leading to a higher chance of injury.

This was one of my first live games at a casino, its the first time I saw a automated card shuffler this guy claiming to be a former jr national champion chess player when he was 14( which being how bobby fisher turned out im more inclined to believe this guy is nuts)
looks at me dead in the face and says anytime you get a good hand not a great hand but a good hand be weary of the turn card with the auto shuffler on it will give opponents a better hand almost always you want to wait till the river before comitting too much,,, the guy was dead serious I was a noob and i couldnt imagine why a room would deal regs winning hands, but each beat i took the thought did creep into my mind lol

Clearly he notices the dealer setting the auto-shuffler to "Action Turn" mode.

Usually, he sets it to smite mode against me. Along same lines when people ask for a wash with automatic shuffler, I ask the dealer to hold the cards over the machine an extra second to re-wash them.

Hell, just asking for a wash, even on a hand shuffled deck, would qualify as absurd to me.
