I am sure this has been mentioned before but I didn't read through all 5,000 messages to look for it.

I still like "I am calling to keep you honest."
ummm.... okay. "Was I honest enough for you?"

Hand a plays out where SB checks 3 streets with 22 on a 622 board hoping to induce bluffs etc.

Very next hand the board on the river is:

Q4KJ7r

Checks to the button who then checks it back. On show down tables AT for the nuts.

People say, "why didn't you raise?"

He looks confused and says, "I'm learning from that guy" pointing at the guy who checked his nuts from the SB...

our home game is friendly in that we do teaching, will check out books, talk strategy to help new guys out, etc. We're not that good, but 2 of us are getting into SPR, commitment strategies, understanding effective stacks, etc. Yes, we would get crushed most places, but we're geniuses compared to this bunch.

After a talk about SPR and why somebody folded in a spot, etc., one of the guys who has been playing in this game - and losing - for years says, "I play so erratically, none of your strategies work on me. I mean, the number of outs and stack size don't matter when you have no idea what I have."

Good times.

don't know if anyone posted it before, cause it was said on norwegian television

I like heads up better cause it's 50/50. When it's 3 players it's 50/50/50 you know

funniest types of comments are the obvious ones. When its a 6 way limped pot and the flop comes 678. bets and calls all around and when it gets to the river, the board is 6789k and someone makes a big bet, and that one guy is like "man I know you have the straight" and he tanks for like 5 minutes and finally calls with 2pair and loses and says "see I knew it"

i just sit there like "...."

Been waiting for a good one since I play 5/5 and 5/10. Finally got a real gem last night at 5/5:

Multi-way limped pot and the board reads KKK95. This middle-aged guy I've never seen before in MP bets $15 into a $135 pot and gets two callers. He tables JTo for a busted gutshot and the other two players table a 9 to chop the pot. The guy with JT says to one of the callers on his right, "Wow that's a gutsy call right there." The other player asks, "why?" He responds, "I was representing a king."

Ha. At a 2-4 NL game I played in last night, literally exactly what you described happened, same board texture and everything.

Had the old J10 is the best hand going, even better than Aces last night.

Unfortunately (or maybe not for the long run) the guy then proceeded to treble up not long after when he got it all in pre with J10 against aces and cracked them

I'm confused. Wouldn't the SB from the first hand be the Button on the next making this the same guy that checked down in both hands?

hahahahaha I love that; so much so that I wonder if there's a small grain of truth to it, regardless of the interlocutor still being a losing player for sure

Move to his table and he's few seats to my left with a 8 Bb stack (with antes) and move in on his BB. Snap fold and shows AJ and went on to explain himself for the next 5 mins that AJ is such a dog to AQ, AK and I'm not moving in with worse than that.

I went on the steal the rest of his bbs

If you moved in from early position, his read isn't entirely incorrect. Getting to the button with a 7 to 8 BB stack may be better than calling an early position shove with an easily dominated hand. If you were in the SB or Button, his play is not good.

Similarly, I once had a player say to me, "Don't try to figure my play out. I can't figure my play out."

I've said that many times. It's funny because they think I am kidding.

Been hitting the felt hard in So FLo lately and LOL at 99% of the players. "I'm not folding JT for anyone, its my favorite hand" "You can't control how the cards come, its all luck" my favorite so far is the guy who chases open enders or flush draws all the way no matter what the bet sizing is and when he misses he mentally berates himself and out loud he says, "well, I went for it and I missed, that's poker, sometimes you hit sometimes you miss" I just found it so funny he said it out loud because nobody said anything to him about chasing. He knows he's wrong for chasing but still does it

Was playing in a 1/2 game over the weekend. A couple of OMC's were complaining about "The flushes just aren't hitting". They continued to say they weren't chasing any flush draws for the rest of the night because they just aren't hitting lol. Too many players take a "pit game" approach to poker.

Truly absurd.
Didn't they realize that flushes were now due to hit, almost a sure thing?

That's the great thing about the "gambler's fallacy." It shows either one thing or the exact opposite.

Did he/she have quads?

River 7 of spades.
