Every pot is $1 and run it 100 times.

Win 67% = +$67.

Add back your own money in those 67% of the times, $67 + $67 = $134.

Everything above is sound and logical.

Here is the illogical part.

Lose 33% of the times = -$33.

Dude thinks that when you lose, you lose 100% of the times (but failed to grasp that when you win, you also win 100% of the times), and therefore you lose 100% of the $100 you put in to this experiment.

So -$33 + -$100 = -$133.

So in short he was double range merging when he should have triple range merged.

I believe he was trying the rare quadruple range merge. The risk of looking like a dumbass is so high, that only a small amount even attempt it. But when successful, 60% of the time it will work every time.

How the hell does Brent think that winning 67 times out of 100 leaves him with $134?
It leaves him with $67.

Simkha is an annoying troll.

I get the feeling Brent is also the kind of guy that if given the choice to get Aces all in every hand against one player or Aces all in every hand against a whole table of 8 players would choose the former.

Riddle: If you start with $100, and you flip for $1 100 times and win 67 of them, how much money do you have.

Maybe he is trolling. Maybe you know he is trolling and pretending not to know. It's hard to tell.

This isn't really absurd thinking. It's more just downright stupid. I just got off the phone with a friend who's playing at the Hollywood Casino in Charles Town, WV. He says there are a couple of guys at his table who can only be classified as dullards. Someone bets $40 and one of the guys asks the dealer what the bet is. She says "It's forty dollars" and he asks "How many chips is that?" My friend said he nearly spit up his drink.

If you're new to the game, have multiple denominators of chips, and under duress, figuring out how to call with $40 can be difficult.

Most people have only one approach to figure out simple arithmetic, and when that approach is challenged, they usually stumble.

I wouldn't be so quick to mock someone who can't think fast enough on their feet.

Yeah, the times tables are tough.

All the guy had was red chips. Sorry, I find this funny. Math in public is hard.

Pssh. You're probably too dense to figure out the stall speed of a jet at no angle of attack.

Looks like he's trying pretty hard to get people to believe that he was trolling by doing some actual trolling now.

Yeah that one has to be trolling.

I can't imagine anyone actually thinking it only takes 4 cards to make a flush, simply because that's just a rules of the game thing.

I could actually believe there are people dumb enough to somehow reason AKs is better than AA.

But I do believe he is trolling there.
