Re: Mizzi vs Frankenberger (and Schwartz's epic commentary)

The fact of the matter is that Frankenburger played that A7 hand vs Mizzi horribly, probably as bad as you can possibly play, he made the worst decision on every street didn't he... What's there to argue?

Awesome, and again he runs like an absolute god in order to win a bracelet. Im sure this will only inflate his ego about his own "ability" MBN to get AA vs AK 3 handed, or 77 vs 55 3 handed, or binking a gutty oop with shallow stacks, lol donkaments.

This, it's like he doesn't even think before he says something. The co-commentator is always the only person who knows what he's talking about in these party poker shows.

Re: Mizzi vs Frankenberger (and Schwartz's epic commentary)

Just watched the 99-A7 hand, and read AF's explanation.

Clearly, the goal was first and foremost to avoid a nuclear showdown (given Sorel's 2x magnification) and second, to extract some kind of value.

As AF himself explained, he checked twice to accomplish the second goal: value extraction. I'd say he succeeded when Sorel bets the river.

Now raising the river to extract further value is, as AF explains, not worth the possibility of a nuclear showdown should Sorel miraculously have pockets 8s to spike the set. We know Sorel is capable of checking down a pocket pair (since that's what he exactly did with his 9s).

Yes, AF's play is outright ridiculous in a standard cash game. But given the Sorel's 2x leverage, I'd say the play is sound. I'd even say pretty darn astute.

Flame away...

That's not writing, it's typing.

Just because you wrote a bunch of words to try to justify a horrible play by any metric you want to use does not make it any less horrible. The honesty of Swartz's reaction makes the explanations to justify that poor play look even more ridiculous.

Those who justify don't convince. That's all.

Played with him for a few hours at the WSOP little-one-drop this last summer. Seemed like a nice enough guy. Not terribly impressed by his poker playing. He busted a while later on after I had moved tables.
