Googling doesn't reveal much, so can someone tell me what's playing there? I'm going to be there (well, St. George) for Wed-Sat next week.

PLEASE tell me there's at least a 1-2 pretty much round the clock and a 2-5 in primetime.

But only if it's true, obv.

TIA

I'm pretty sure that the Virgin River has a poker room.

Go to Zion NP instead.
Climb Angel's Landing or hike the Narrows.

I take-back the TIA.
Poker atlas? First place I checked.
Advice to go hiking? What do you think I'm in St. George for, hookers and cheap blow?
I'll just assume there's nothing there, which is fine.

I have a Mesquite story. About every two years I and a couple guys get drawn for deer hunting in Utah. It’s a long drive from Southern Cal so we always stop in Mesquite for the night both going and returning. The guys I hunt with are older and always go to bed early but I usually stay up and gamble.

One year I decided to get drunk and play poker. We always stay at the Virgin River because the guys I hunt with are cheap and those seem to be the cheapest rooms around. After awhile I remember hitting four deuces on a machine and stumbling into the poker room and getting seated at a small limit no-limit game. Then I switched from tequila drinks to White Russians. Big mistake.

I set two buckets of quarters from my slot win on the floor next to my seat and started playing and of coarse, drinking White Russians. I’m no great player by any means on a good day but for awhile It was like I had a golden horseshoe up my back end. I couldn’t lose. The last thing I remember that night was some white haired old guy looking at me with a smile on his face and nodding a little bit.

To this day I don’t know how I got back to the hotel room. I think someone might have helped me because there are a lot of them and they all look the same. The guys I was with said they got up and let me in when they heard me knocking on the door. When we left a couple hours later for Utah I needed help getting in the truck.

Someplace north of Cedar City I woke up and started in with that what the hell happened conversation all drunks have with themselves the next morning, when I decided to check and see how much money I had left. Amazingly I wasn’t broke. Then I thought about the two buckets of quarters. I called the Virgin River and got transferred to the poker room and told the guy what happened. He laughed and said that he already heard about me from the night crew and that my two buckets of quarters would be waiting for me in the poker room safe when I was able to pick them up. Worried, I asked him if I had been offensive in any way and he said no, but that he had heard that for awhile I had a hell of a run and that I was welcome to come back anytime.

To this day I always stay there when passing through even though I can’t think of a bigger dump. They could have ripped me off but didn’t.

I usually see a NL at Eureka when I'm in Mesquite.

Oasis is LOL. I remember driving to AZ from Vegas, and went in for a pit stop to grab a bite. Worst food ever. Well, on the way back, I test it again to make sure that it wasn't me. Bad move. Worst food ever.

Mesquite is like the deep south of the west. Weird people. Terrible food. Terrible "action".

Virgin River does have a room, I've seen 4-8 there (one) and Eureka has a room. They'll get 1/2 NL and 2-8 spread I believe. They have the comfy chairs and a decent buffet. Coke not Pepsi!

Anybody know the status of poker in Mesquite these days? Google doesn't reveal much other than Eureka seems to be the only room in town. Do NL games run there with any frequency during the week? I'll be in St. George for most of this week and thinking about driving over one night.

I played at Eureka for a few hrs on my way to Zion. They had 4/8 Omaha HL and 1/3 NL as well as a low stakes tourney running.
