Hey,

Will likely be heading to Mackinac in Michigan in Mid August for a couple days, anyone know of any good casinos/poker rooms in the area and what limits/games they spread.

It would be easier to answer your question with more details in your post about how long you're staying, how far you're willing to drive, what you like to play.

Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort has an excellent poker room and a great staff. It's 2.5 hours away in Mount Pleasant.

Odawa Casino and Resort is located less than an hour away in Petoskey. I have personally never been to the poker room but heard good things about it. The link is to their scheduled tournaments so you might want to call to ask about cash games.

just looking for something to kill 5-6 hours one evening, going with my family---stopping there for a couple of days on our way to where we normally go on vacation up in Northern Ont.;; just turned 21 so wanna play some live

looking for cash games 1/2nl or 5/10 limit or omaha(doubt anywhere spreads it though)

maybe 10 yrs ago i played in St Ignace at Kewadin casinos...it was so damn smoky...i think we played 1-5 stud?! can't remember for sure other than it had strange architecture like a tent or dome like structure and you could play blackjack with teh $1 slot tokens with a $2 minimum or something.

What are u "kewadin" for? LOL

These are the OLGC rooms, there may be "indian" rooms as well in canada...not sure (like Casino Rama) but I don't know if they are near where you are going, EH?

the room in St. Ignace is about 5-6 tables. I got stuck up there for a wedding a few months ago.

It's all you have to choose from if you don't feel like driving. Trust me, it's nothing professional. That casino still has old ladies working the change cage, and actually scraping the change buckets customer bring them!

Again, it'll blow sometime, or take an hour and head to Petoskey. The casino there is only about 1 or 2 years old, but the poker room had 10 tables.

There is also a casino in Brimley called Bay Mills casino i would recommend if you are already in the upper penninsula, I don't like the casino in St. Ignace as the pit bosses are as bad as any i have come across. Last weekend i was there they closed the poker table at 2PM regardless of the full table and 5-7 people that were still on the list (including myself as i had been on it since 11PM). Brimley is only a 45 minute drive north and west. They only have a three table room with 1/2NL being the only game i see, but it is off to the side, good dealers, no smoking, and they have free drinks.

Also, the St. Ignace Casino did move out the "tent", they do have a nice hotel/resort on the lake. They don't have a "poker room" however, they put the tables next to the blackjack / table games area in the casino which is surrounded by slots so it is noisy and the foot traffic constantly around the tables and smoking is allowed when i was there.

I just played Omaha the last two days at Odawa. They said the game rarely goes, but we had a larger group and so it went for two days. 10-20 Omaha/8.

The rest is ridiculous soft 1-2 NL. But it is WAAAAY boring.....
