Looking to work as a dealer abroad - help? Looking to work as a dealer abroad - help?

Good day to you,

I currently live in South East Asia, and I am looking to get jobs as casino dealers abroad. Casinos in my country only look for female dealers, to which I can't apply. I'm looking to work as a casino dealer for Poker, BlackJack, Baccarat, Craps,...or game presenter for online games.

I speak fluent English and my native language, although from all the looking I've done my native language is only good for using here. I prefer English speaking countries, and somewhere with low taxes to casino work is very favorable. Low cost of living is also an added plus. I don't possess any criminal records and I'm under 25.

I've looked into cruise ships, most European countries, Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US, but most of them require previous dealer or casino experiences, neither of which I have, but I am very well familiar with how most casino table games are operated.

What should I do? Any help or guide in a direction is warmly welcomed, please.

The biggest obstacle would be getting a work permit. You might look into using a work holiday visa to get in, then moving on to another type of visa once you're established. Don't worry too much about job listings saying experience is required - they all say that, but if there aren't enough applicants they'll take who they can get.

Low cost of living and English speaking is tough to find. You might expand your search to places where English is commonly known enough to be able to get by until you learn the local language such as Spain, or possibly resorts that cater to international tourists.

Contact Rob Yong through X/Twitter and I bet he'll set you up at Dusk til Dawn in a heartbeat .. pending the Work Visa thing.

Multi-lingual people should always be able to find a spot .. give any thought to being a Casino Host or Floor? GL

I've heard some countries like Malta has an easier work permit, but it's true, work permits applying spans from nearly impossible to guaranteed success. I'm glad to know that sometimes work experience isn't required, it'll help tremendously when looking for a dealer job that will give that experience, but I don't know if it's just me, or the casino jobs are very competitive in entrance? I do fear being rejected for tons and tons of other people who do have an upper hand in experience.

I knew I was day-dreaming to ask for a low cost English speaking country, lol, perhaps any that is English friendly where a lot of people know English and the cost of living is expensive? The US and UK for example is high in that regards.

Thanks for the info! I have already applied to Royal Carribean Cruise for the Asian trips as a casino dealer, but I don't think my chances are high. Definitely will check Rob out when I receive a decline email.

Multi-lingual sounds like a strong suit to add to my résumé, but I have found absolutely no fleeting mention of my native language anywhere on any casino job postings I've looked up. As for Casino Host or Floor Management, I'm fine with them, but I'm not sure I have much experience there as I do with the games, the experience they require seems to be more strict and not negligible like dealer experience where you can learn through training.

Ease of getting hired will vary wildly by casino. Some are fully staffed or are in a hiring freeze, others are desperate for help.

One thing I failed to mention is many places won't really take you seriously unless you're already living where you apply. If you can afford it you may have to just take a gamble and book a trip, or you may be able to bluff them. Get approved for a work holiday visa, get a local phone number that connects to you, and put down the address of a local hostel or something. Then fly there if it looks like you'll be able to get in.

Sad to hear that, actually. But I might be applying for an online casino to work there for the experience and living space set up. Should I move to Madrid, Spain or Birkirkara, Malta? Moving to Spain also require an NIE or EU passport for the job, none of which I have

Update: Spain has an unbearable amount of bureaucracy and getting a work permit is impossible for being a casino dealer, so now the question is do I move to Riga, Latvia or Malta

Doesn't the WSOP have some kind of work Visa program to help fill their ranks? That would help with experience to work on cruise ships too.

Sadly this is no longer a thing, they stopped sponsorships years ago and the US and Australia only gives work visas for jobs that have high requirements, and it's an incredible amount of work for a temporary visa during WSOP

Casino Moyo, Kenya, Nairobi is a brand new casino. Opened yesterday. They are hiring.

Their "mothership" Eclipse Casino Batumi is hiring too. And so are their neighbours Grand Bellagio.
