I'd assume roulette/BJ or drugs. All poker players are the same.

I really hate those guys who take it upon themselves to help the dealer run the game: scooping up every ante they can reach, moving the button any time they can, reading out the tabled hands, reminding everyone to post thier blinds etc. This person is always an OMC.

Not your job, buddy. Stay out of my action.

New favorite from this last weekend.

Guy in tournament clearly learned how to play poker from watching WSOP from 2015. We'll call him "Dimwit"

Action folds to Dimwit. Dimwit slowly reaches for his cards, looks at them one at a time, waits 15 seconds, and folds.

However, if dimwit isn't folding, dimwit acts in about 5 seconds. So we always - ALWAYS know when he's folding.

Aside: Same dimwit makes it to final 3 tables through sheer dumb luck (calls all in after facing raise and 3bet with ATo kind of guy...) - he's facing a short stack raise of 9bb and he's in the bb. He agonizes over his decision for 3 minutes and 18 seconds, before finally calling and turning over AKo. Table is outraged 'WTF were you thinking that's a snap call"

"I take the time I need"

Shortie's small pair held up and he outlasted dimwit, so there was some justice...

Whats even better when you see these guys, with all the accoutrements of that "standard poker pro", doing this in a daily $60 turbo tournament.

I guess that really is what it's about. It's about imagining that they're on TV and in the Big Show. The same thing happens in golf. If they were simply trying to emulate the pros behavior, they probably wouldn't spend a fortune on the clothing , clubs and accessories. For them, it's all about pretending 'This is the real deal!' I never really thought if it that way. I always thought maybe they were imitating the pros because it might actually help them play better, but really, they're just role playing. Arrggh, it's more depressing than I thought.

It is pretty obnoxious and pretentious. At the same time, I love those guys, as they are some of the easiest to exploit players at the table

I show my hand a lot when I am playing the daily turbos and am usually one of the best players at the tournament, and am comfortable in my ability to manipulate my image and influence other players. When I play the deeper stacked tournaments, I rarely do, and when I play the medium to large buy in circuit events, where I am usually one of the weaker players at the table, I never, ever show my hand.

New Pet Peeve to me.

Playing a 10 handed table (Yes, that's a pet peeve in and of it self.) so you are obviously a little squeezed into the table. The person sitting next to you is right where they should be above the table, but underneath they have there legs spread as wide as they possibly can go. You ask the dealer to square the table up and they insist they are in the exact spot they need to be in.

Had that happen to me (he wasn't spreading his leg, but stretching his leg out and crowding me). Of course, he apologized after about the third time our legs collided and said that he had had surgery on that knee and couldn't bend it yet. I was getting pretty annoyed until he said that.

Players who want to argue that the rules don't matter because they don't understand why they matter. Case in point:

Player in Seat 5 makes a large raise preflop and everyone folds. He lifts his cards up off the table and toward his right so that his neighbor in seat 4 can see them (this isn't the first time he's shown his neighbor, I've remained silent about it, but I'm finally over it) -- and for emphasis taps them a few times. I ask to see them (the room has a "show one show all" rule) and he quickly mucks them and says "I don't have to show them". I asked the dealer to explain the rule to him and she declined as he says "rules are made to be broken anyway". I ask floor to be called to explain the rule and another player (you know, the bozo type who is wearing cheap red framed too-dark for the room sunglasses so he'll look like a "pro") starts saying "it doesn't matter" "it's stupid to ask to see them", etc. grrrrrr.

OMC reg where I play tanks every time the action is on him. Every single time.

The worst is when he's HU and facing a huge river shove. He'll tank for ~5 minutes and eventually announce, "I missed!", and show his missed draw.

(WTF was the point of Hollywooding if you show your hand afterward!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!)

He does this all the time.

I honestly have no idea how he even drives to and from the casino.

I'd ask the room manager to watch his play for a while. It costs the casino money and he/she just might do something about it.

He must be related to the OMC that drives me nuts: preflop he waits until the action gets to him then lifts the corner of one card. Stares at it for 10 seconds. Then puts it down. Waits a few seconds then lifts up the corner of the second card and starts at it for 10 or more seconds. Then he puts it back down, aligns the cards side by side and then picks both up and stares for 10 seconds. Then he puts them down and realigns them and waits a few seconds. 90% of the time this is done he merely calls.

I hate playing at a table with him.

Encourage him to play Big O.

edit: I played Big O with an OMC like that for years. Not only would he peek every card and then arrange them, he'd then ask every time, "High low?"

That and a hundred other things drove me crazy.

One day a lady was in the box, and some balla lost a hand and threw his cards at the dealer and started screaming at her. OMC waited for the balla to finish and told him, "Buddy, the next time you talk to a lady like that we're going to fight. I won't say anything, I'll just start swinging. Now I'm 72, and you'll probably kick my ass. That's OK, but don't ever tell anybody I sucker punched you."

After that it became impossible to complain about OMC. He was the dealers' favorite, he was the floor's favorite, if you complained they would just laugh and ask him if he wanted a donut.

The guys at 1/2 that have watched too many final table WSOP videos and insist upon playing "where's the check" with the dealer. You know, the guy who thinks he looks cool by moving one finger almost imperceptibly or thinks the dealer should react only to his eye movement or moves one toe on his left foot under the table. What is wrong with these guys? Is there some shame in making your action clear?

Here you go, I'll start with

You know a player has watched too many WSOP final table videos when:

They show up to play 2/4 limit wearing dark sunglasses, a baseball cap pulled low, Beats headphones (that are invariably flea market fakes or stolen from someone's car), and their hoodie pulled up over their capped head.
