FWLIW ...... my opinion differs

Inappropriate doesn't bother me much. But I found his .... ummmmm ... descriptions significantly less amusing each time.

First one he was a wit.

Second one he was a half wit.

It's a geometric progression.

After losing my cool with an old nit recently I've decided to cut back or even stop live poker. It's becoming insufferable.

-Smelly people
-People who glare at the bettor for about a minute before folding their air
-"I would have had trips on that board" guy
-The guy whining about "running bad" who is playing around 80/25
-Getting into the very limited space I have at the table
-Taking 15 seconds to act preflop, every hand
-Smokers getting up every 40 minutes to come back and stink up the table
-People who are rude to dealers
-People telling me how I should play poker when they are basically a total monkey
-Trying to psych me out with idiotic table talk instead of just making the call or folding
-Regs constantly using poker jargon, especially discussing 'the fish'
-Entitled regs in general

That's a few of them.

College dude in hoodie who every time he folds, flips his cards to the center high in the air, helicopter-style, so they inevitably land on someone's hole cards, to which he says "sorry, bro".

Guy who acts like he's the dealer's best friend even though it's obvious the dealer hardly knows him or doesn't know him at all. Says stuff like, "how's it hangin, Mikey"? Often tries to show dealer vacation photos on his phone while he's dealing.

Degenerate who tries to steal my spot on the waiting list by claiming he's got the same name as me when I'm called.

Guy who stares down opponent's river bet for 5 minutes over a $23 pot before finally folding, which everyone knew he was going to do anyway.

That's a good idea. If you're not enjoying it, cut it out of your life at least for a while.

You also might want to consider playing games other than your main game though. The regulars at many PLO tables are much different than the regulars at many O8 tables, for example.

Not much PLO at the local tribal casinos but I do enjoy O8 (8/16 limit is the highest game) once in a while. If you don't have the nuts or drawing to the nuts, get out.

Talking Stick in Scottsdale, AZ is a much better room but somewhat nit-tastic at the lower levels.

Lots of MLB (15 teams!) have spring training in Phoenix. They have lots of money and not much skill. (:

The player who has a drawn out "stance" or ritual that he has to undertake for every action at the table.

Best example was a guy that sticks in my memory from a few years ago:
He stares at each player as they complete their actions; when it's his turn, he then slowly moves his eyes to the flop, and always stares for 10 seconds. Then he picks up 4 chips and clicks them on his stack 5 times, and then finally declares an action. Unless it's raising -- then he must take 20 seconds to carefully and deliberately count and recount his chips, and slowly place them across the line.

I'm like, we're at 1/2. No one is watching this painfully crafted persona.

Absolute worse. Or when you been sitting at a table with someone like this for hours unable to catch them and a new guy sits at the table and doubles through him on the very first hand

I saw this ten dollar increment thing on a raise to 70 yesterday...

Even better is when someone counts their chips like 2-3 times and still puts in wrong amount. Or puts it's in the pot kinda splashed so the dealers needs to break down their bet after the person counted 3 times anyways.

My peeve from that is generally doing dumb stuff and making it harder on dealer and slowing down the game.

People who hide their big chips on the back/bottom of their stacks and the dealers who don't tell them to correct this.

I'm color blind. When someone has 3 stacks of red with 4 $25 on the bottom of the stacks, I end up having to try and count edge spots to see how much they are playing. Just be proud of those big chips and put them up front or on top.

I do that when I get caught bluffing. Makes my jack high seem more impressive.

Honestly I don't think it's that bad of an idea, especially if you play in a casino that has plenty of inexperienced dealers.

I find it hilarious, since every player who does it is usually pretty new to the game and not used to handling chips. I'd rather play in a slow game with a bunch of newbs than a fast game with a bunch of hot shots, if those are the choices.

It does annoy me when newbs count the chips out slowly when they could've easily let the dealer do it. Ie, bet is 80, newb says call, and takes 15 seconds to count out 80 before sliding it in. I'll often say something (as friendly as possible) like "if you say call and just push some chips in, the dealer will do the counting for you, they're good at that stuff."

Getting nitrolled.

Idiots that tank forever in a clear cut spot because they are gambling with all the money to their name.

Poor hygeine, esp guys with **** smelling breath who try to whisper to you what they folded every ****ing hand.

Extreme hollywooding. Yeah it's super transparent and easy to play against but it still annoys me when people do it. Similarly, people who donk lead and overbet consistently annoy me. Obviously it makes it easier to play against but it also makes me want to stack you rly bad.

People that celebrate excessively over winning an average pot/any pot for that matter.

People who complain about shorthanded/refuse to play if it's not full ring. Grow a pair and play some cards.

People who complain if you don't chop, even if the game is shorthanded.

People, mostly White old heads who act disappointed every single ****ing time there's a preflop raise. Like "Well... I had a 5 dollar hand but not for 20... this guy is always doing that!" Love em but hate em.

Dealers that immediately remind you that action is on you every hand. I understand time is money but let me ****ing think for a second.

Dealers/waitresses who try to snake tips without asking if you want change.

well at least if you lose an allin to him, you dont have to pay his big chips, as its against the rules to hide high denoms. i know i wouldnt pay.

How well that works is totally dependent on the dealer/floor though.
