Unfortunately, you're talking about a lot of players at WPT events. Something like a hoodie and sweatpants is not uncommon at those events.

A lot of us think that those players are hurting us by making poker look less than professional, while at the same time The Poker Players Alliance and others are in a state-by-state battle, trying to prove in court that full-time players are not gamblers, we are professionals playing a game of skill and that our profession should be treated that way by state legislators and Congress.

Don't forget to obsessively talk about the jackpot hand, get really irate over the smallest things, play small stakes limit hold em from 6am-12pm, order food from your players card the moment it has $10 on it and chew with your mouth open, and just look really tired and over life overall.

People who buyin for unreasonably unbalanced denominations of chips, like $1000 in red for a 2/5 game, or $1000 black, especially considering that the dealer can’t change blacks as easily anymore since they keep the tray at $400 now with $1/$2 chips only.

The worst is when the player is sitting directly to your left or right. The sonic boom from their sudden thunderclap or YASSSSS!!!! is quite painful on the ears.

Player sits down at the table and buys in for the minimum or short stack....ok no problem there. Proceeds to bust out 3 times and all three times buys in for the min or short stack. Wth why not just pour all your money into 1 buy-in at once to give yourself a better shot?

He's probably a bad player who usually busts so this way he can play 3 times as long. Or did you really think he would be an expert if he bought in for a big stack?

I hate in tournaments when players take too long for simple decisions especially in early-mid level stages not around an important stage like the money bubble or maybe final table.

I feel most decisions in tournament poker should take less than 1 minute. I feel slow play makes the game boring and hurts the hands dealt per hour obviously. I feel it would be awesome if a player got 20-30 seconds per decisions and had maybe 2-3 additions of 30 seconds if they need to use it.

I know this has been stated before but I feel a shot clock in tournament play would be amazing.

I know of a local reg who loves doing this. He buys in for seemingly random shortstack amounts whenever he busts. I've seen him burn through up to 15 of these shortstacks BIs.

From what I've observed, the reasons he burns through BIs is because a.) he literally plays any two, b.) he pot commits himself on the flop almost every hand. He flats any raise pre even if it's 1/2 or 2/3 of his stack. And he shoves / calls off every flop no matter what. It's amazing to see him get a 9x free refill when his 63o bangs a flop. Or when he shoves the flop with A high and spikes an A on the river against pocket kings.

He plays just as crazy when he's deepstacked. He's one of my favorite players to watch.

Probably been mentioned but players who keep on asking "how much is the bet" when in situations it's so easy to see.

Having seen a guy declar 700 and then throw out 1200 in chips, I tend to give the 'How much is it' guy a little bit of a break. Also, anyone at the end of the table can have a hard time seeing chips all the way at the othe rend (getting old sucks)

I’ve made mistakes before when I thought the bet was “easy to see.”

I ask almost every time I’m not snap folding since the dealers usually don’t announce it where I play.

If it’s obvious the dealer should have no trouble announcing the bet.

One guy asking usually isn't a problem. It's the guys who ask after a previous player asked, received an answer, and folded who are annoying. Multiple guys in a hand doing that seems like grounds for justifiable homicide.

I'm guessing many (most?) of the people who get annoyed when someone asks about bet sizes, where's the action, etc, are younger players. You have NO IDEA how much fun getting old is. All the crap my elders used to complain about and I was like wtf, well now I understand it all. Driving at night, back pain, sleep issues, and yeah, not being able to see across a table or hear everything in a noisy room. What is easy to see for you, well when you're 60 come talk to me. (Loudly, since by the time you're 60 I'll need 3 hearing aids.)

Sure, some PITA asking in a limit game, that's probably overkill (to put it mildly). But in a NL game (what we old timers call "big bet" poker), we're protecting ourselves from a seriously embarrassing and costly error. Social security check only comes once a month, sonny. Can't lose it all in one pot.

My short pet peeve list.
1. Guys who get verbally nasty every other time they lose a hand.
2. Guys talking about their bad beats AT LENGTH Describing the action on every street.
Clue No One Effing cares.
3. Jerk Offs whispering the cards they folded (to their seat neighbor) while a hand is still in play.
4. Clowns wearing ear plugs that need to be told 3 times an hour the action is on them.
