Kings casino in rozvadov should have some bigger games, and you can stay in the hotel. switzerland has some big games afaik.

You will have a tough time probably. 5/10 tends to run in places where peeps have a lot of money, EE doesn't have these qualities too much, maybe Moscow I dunno. In most places these games mostly tend to run only when big tourney series are in town, or as private games. Yep Kings Casino has these games sometimes, but mainly just on some weekends, when some of the more popular tourney series run, Switzerland, Paris, Wiesbaden, Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam come to mind, Malta, North Cyprus. But in most of these higher games run not with too much regularity, sometime they run, most of the time not, and most of my info on that was before Covid, I doubt it has improved since, also many of the aforementioned places have somewhere on the scale from high to absurdly high rake. I assume you want to play for profit and not just punt around...

Hey! So what was your choice? I'm actually searching for the best place in Europe to play live 1/2 or 1/3 (I'm from Portugal and we don't really have many games here) and I would love to hear opinions from other players. What would you recommend?

some info from someone who actually has been there often:

a) they have "big tournaments" always ... one series follows after the other
you have to differentiate between real big series (like wsop europe coming up for example), and their "regular" series, meaning huge fields (2000 players or whatever) with 8 starting days and buy in like 199ish, during those series the cash game action is only good during the weekends (fri-sun), because then you have the regular weekend crowd coming in on top. during the week its like 15 tables 1-3NL and 2 tables 2-2 plo, nothing special
during the real big series there's lots of cash games all the times, but also better players obviously.

b) wiesbaden and barcelona have decent games, cyprus only when they have tourneys running

c) eastern europe (have friends in rumania and bulgaria): mostly all games are private, no chance to get in

I've been thinking about making a trip to Barcelona to play, do you think it's worth it? For what I've been reading, there are always long waiting lists. Are the games good? What's your opinion?

I thought the rake is brutal in the EU, especially giant pots.

You should visit Wiesbaden then - they play NLH with three blinds (2/4/8 EUR) and charge a rake of 2 EUR, after a flop is dealt, that's it.

In addition, after you win a pot > 200 EUR, it is expected, that you tip 1% of the winnings.

Suffice to say, that due to the above the amount of regulars in the game is high and the amount of drunken tourists pretty much zero, but it is still a live poker environment ...

Definitely the new Grand Casino in Liechtenstein! It‘s a great place. Action every day and drinks and entry is free. Also no dresscode!
